It points down I would just leave the hole there.

 

True. And there won't be any electronics once the camera is out of there.
I'm curious if the camera itself is waterproof though.

Oh... I'm curious if I can't just mount it anywhere I want? Hmm if I could relocate the camera to the license plate and keep the same camera that would be perfect.

 

I think you can not really sure it is only 25.00 and you get 2 different brackets to choose from

Looks like the camera is waterproof
You can see the second link though in the pic, the lines go into the sky instead of down.... so gonna have to play around until it looks good in the image

Just bought my camera relocate kit. (Still haven't bought the hitchgate solo yet! Waiting a few weeks on that purchase) but at least I'll be ready
