I had it originally with the Cali wire harness and switch running right into the cab, but I didn't like the "anytime on" aspect, and I like the clean, factory look. So I got some Air On Board switches and the cubby hole switch plate (from here: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...ecause-the-thing-i-wanted-didnt-exist.415922/ ). Wired it according to the diagram included, but it didn't work for some reason, so I stripped it down and started from the beginning.
Light bar has 2 leads - hot and ground.
From the battery, fused input 30 on the relay to 87 out to the light, then ran a lead from the hb +12v side to the 12v input on the switch. Tapped a 12v wire (the green lead on the exterior bed light switch works well) for the switch light. The output from the switch then back to the relay to pin 86, with 85 going common to ground with the light bar and switch.
The wiring diagram for the AOB switch has a diode on the switch output (which I did), but wants you to run that to relay pin 85, with 86 going to the -12v side of the hb circuit, since they're negatively switched. Did that, and it didn't work, so I started from scratch, using a multimeter to find the leads I was looking for.
No add-a-fuse or splicing. Used a couple wire taps so it's reversible without too much damage.
This way, the light switch doesn't illuminate until I've got the high beams on, which is what I wanted. No accidental switching, or leaving it on to drain the battery.

I looked forever online for a pinout or wiring diagram for the light circuit coming from the multi-functional switch (turn signals/headlights) but found nothing useful. I've heard it said that it was the red wire, but I couldn't confirm it, and couldn't get my multimeter pins to reach into the plug ends to test it. Didn't want to snip any dash wires, since they'd be a lot harder to put back together, so I said screw it and got the leads going to the headlight itself and tapped into that between the bulb and the fuse box. Left side, white is 12v+, white with black stripe is to ground. Right side, I think it's yellow that's 12v+.
The current draw for the switch is very low, so I didn't feel any real concern for adding a tap on that end of the circuit.

riddle me this: does anyone know of any manufacturer that makes a 40" lightbar....that has amber and white LED's without sections being off/on or different colors? think switchback LED's in a lightbar...

Looks like your bar needs a little bit of aiming.

I dont have any pictures of it on hand, but it's just a standard toggle switch. In a couple days we will be offering a switch that fits in your oem buttons blanks. Check them out on the group buy, there are pictures of them on there.
