Hey all, I have a 2006 Taco with the 4.0 V6 and ~157k on the clock. Recently, my cold starts have been very weak. My issue is that I'll start the truck, it will turn over and "engage" (meaning it doesn't turn over again and again like you'd see with a dead battery) in normal time, but it takes about 2-3 seconds for the RPM needle to make its way from 0 RPM's to cold idle (around 1400 RPM's). The truck has started eventually every time, but it just takes too long to get the RPM's up to idle and something has to be off. I wanted to run this past TW before I pay my private Toyota shop $120 to do a full vehicle systems diagnosis to figure out what isn't working right. I have a nearly new Die Hard battery by the way. Thanks y'all!

When is the last time you changed your spark plugs?

I've owned the truck for 22k mi and haven't done them. No idea on when the previous owner did it last either. That's something I plan on doing within the next week. I just need to figure out which spark plugs to get now...

I went with irridium plugs. I was having odd and irratic long/hard starts on my truck. Changed the plugs and never again.
