GSU.. as in geographically separated unit.. (that's how it started, Arizona these days)

2017 TRD Off-Road. Double Cab. 4x4 in beautiful Silver Sky Tacoma

I realized how difficult things are being stationed overseas in Germany. Half of the items that I wanted are simply not available over here. Can't order armor... can't get decent equipment.. everything is a struggle. I am going to start slow and have to save up for most of what I want for when I get back to the motherland.

Additions Thus Far (not much as of yet):

    Exterior:
    - Mobtown skids, front bumper, and high clearance rear with swing-outs.
    - ARE Shell
    - Triple layer ceramic cover paint protection
    - RokBlokz mud flaps all around.
    - CBI Off Road Sliders
Can't speak highly enough of CBI going the extra mile to figure out how to get these to me in Germany.
UPDATE 26 Feb - Pulled the sliders back off. My apparently failure at rattle can has left me with an unacceptable level of surface rust... Doing it right.. Off to the powdercoaters tommorrow afternoon.
    - Sliders are back and installed.
    - KB Voodoo Short Bed Rack
    - Prinsu rack for front and back
    - DBCustomz Grill with Baja pro cubes
    - Caliraised ditch light brackets and cubes (don't buy these. The caliraised steel is deteriorating at an amazing rate compared to every other piece of metal on the truck)
    - SCS Ray 10s in black
    - K02s
    - Rotopax (3 of em) on one side of the rack (gone when the shell went on)
    - Axe and shovel mount on the other side of the rack (gone when the shell went on)
    - KB Voodoo tailgate cap
    - Rigid Scene lights - 2 driver, 2 passenger, 2 rear
    - AC drain mod

    Interior:
    - Installed full range of upgraded speakers/amp courtsey of @Mr Marv I went with a subless system as I wanted to conserve storage space. This system absolutely kicks and is more than I will ever need.
    - Noico sound deadening mat and pad above headliner, on back wall, and across floor. Update - Finished out the deadening and did the doors as well during a stereo install.
    *Walkthrough - Headliner - https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/my-silver-gsu-build.460083/page-4#post-15503347

    *Walkthrough - Sound deadening/Speaker Install - Doors - https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/my-silver-gsu-build.460083/page-5#post-16101937
    - Console Vault - Key Lock
Console Vault was another great company that helped me out over here. The customer service department opened, repacked, and shipped it separate to me so that I could get it here in Germany.
    - BlackVue 650 2 Channel both front and back. *GONE*
    - BlackVue 950 2 Channel both front and back
    - Wet Okole Seat Covers front and back
    - Hondo mount for my cell phone.

    Engine Bay:
    - ARB Dual compressor, mounted vertically with a combination of a Slee mount and a custom bracket from @MJ_PDX
    - Installed hood lights, courtesy of @mattgecko
    - Off Grid Engineering dual battery setup
Controller ran into the glovebox for manual override and linking
    - Optima D34 (two of them)
    - Switchpro into the little cubby mount on the left
    - Bluesea fuse box
    - Redline Hood Struts

Roof Top Tent is a Skycamp by iKamper. It was a pain to get it out here, and they sent the wrong color, but its hard to complain about a king size mattress worth of floorspace in a tent. *SOLD*

Started off straight with the ceramic coating.. Really thought it would be best to get that level of protection as soon as I an.

What brand coating did you use and did you apply it yourself?

If you don't mind me asking, how much did it cost? I have heard prices all over the place for these type of coatings.

It was about 300 Euro.. so about 350 US... give or take. The guy had me drop it off on Wednesday morning.. He only does one care at a time, and this included paint correction, the coating, and a two year warranty.

I can't say enough about this guy. Seeing the prices online and the pictures that people are putting up, I feel like I got a great deal. If you can find someone to do it, I would say go for it.

    Console Vault Pictures:

These guys really went out of their way to get this vault to me. Customer Service pulled the box out of shipping, unpacked, repacked, and took the thing down to the post office so it could get to me at my military address. That level of customer service is unheard of these days. Can't speak highly enough of them.

    RokBlokz are on:

After entirely too much time spend pondering the J bracket and it's lack of a nut.. I finally just did what was recomended and inserted it and cranked it tight. Self expanding... i'm an idiot and wasted half an hour.. But they sure look great now.

    Added some sill protectors:

As well some extras for the hood and windows. I know a lot of people hate these shields on the hood.. but I like the look:

Finished off the afternoon with some lettering to make the ass end pop a bit:

How easy was the install of this? Also, which locking system did you go with?

I went with the key lock myself. It seemed a lot easier for me than dealing with the combo. I can see advantages to the combo lock that a key can't provide though. As for installation, it was ridiculously easy, only took about 15 minutes. Just two bolts in the bottom of the console that get removed and then go through the vault and back into the console.

Gotcha. That does sound simple. Thank you for the info.

is That A Factory Bed Extender? I Want To Get One But I Saw One By AMP That I Really Like. Do you Also Have The Factoey Bed Cover? I Know Some Extenders will Not Fit With The Factory Covers. This is the one I was interested in.

Many thanks to CBI Offroad for getting these to me all the way out in Germany!

    Prep Work

    First coat of paint

So excited to get these done. Due to space limitations, and having to paint indoors from the cold, I will be doing these one at a time.. with about 7 days a pop.
