I'm thinking 9-12k. She likes this 2006 Sport Edition with locker.

    V8 MAGNUM lol

I don't know about part out, she's about to get the insurance check. She might just want it gone and not mess with it. It's currently in John Day Oregon. I'll find out what I can.

I don't like this tree root ball, just too close for comfort (1/2" from window) even with a skinny 1st gen.

I have a problem and need you fine gentlemen's help. My truck threw a P0776 code on my Ultraguage (pending code, it did NOT throw a CEL yet). My truck would redline at 5500+ RPM in 3rd gear (at which time I would let off the gas and look for the 'tick' in changing of the gears in the RPM dial, but the 'tick' never happened). I pulled the truck over, check inside the engine bay, all hoses appear connected. I let the truck sit off for a few minutes then started it up. The pending code threw again on the UG, and I still let the truck sit for a sec. I preceded to drive home slowly and the truck shifted just fine, on time, in the proper RPM shift points as usual (between 2-3K depending on gear and speed).

The code threw after I had to quickly apply breaks at 70 mph (down to roughly 30 mph) for a car doing a u turn in the middle of a 6 lane interstate. When I went to apply the gas again, slowly, the truck bucked and the RPMs went to the 5k+ mark. Then the UG sent the pending code. This has happened 1 or twice in the past couple months but never threw a UG code. After looking it up, it appears to be a possible shift solenoid that relays the xmsn gear to the ECM not communicating effectively (which makes sense). It is an automatic with about 75k miles on it. what are your guys' thoughts??? (didnt trip the code on the way home after it was working correctly, which really makes me think its just the solenoid being faulty).

you guys have any experience with this?

If you have an Aamco transmission place near you they will diagnose it for free.

No.... the transmission has its own codes in the tranny ecm... they are able to pull those up... if a shop is worth a shit they have a scanner that they plug in that does real time diagnosis.... shifting, slipping, shit like that

That's scary man. My wife and I are the same way in the snow/ice since I totaled my 87 4Runner on black ice 5 years ago or so. It's especially bad one HWY 410, which is where the wreck happened.

thank you. since this is out of my scope of knowledge, I got an appt tomorrow at the dealer (ughh) and I also have the tacoma manual that give them step by step instructions on fixing everything and it calls for them to hook up some scan tool that does real time feeds and use it while driving to make sure the actual shift points are in parameters with the scan gauge data base, plugs in the OBDII port of course. Ill keep you all posted. I hope they just dont try to give me the run around cuz i HATE dealing with the dealership.

If you're talking about a REAR locker they didn't exist for a 2006. The 2009 "Trail Edition" is the 4th gen that came with one from the factory and they're quite rare. I've seen two on the road. Ever. I believe there's just two or three registered on the 4Runner forum.

The way to spot them (other than their saying "Trail Edition" on the side instead of "Sport Edition") is the wheels. They have FJ wheels

They only came in a few colors (I have only ever seen silver in the wild) but they did come in the BEST color, Shadow Mica. That's the color I've been on the lookout for.

Here is the link she found but I just noticed it's in Surrey B.C. https://seattle.craigslist.org/see/ctd/5890934506.html

We may need advice from the 4-Runner guys while we shop. Thanks!

From my own personal experience a few weeks ago and advice I got from others, keep the claim open at least 3 years, especially if she had any sort of injury. I got rolled on Nov 9 in my Tacoma, and my back is still tweaked after multiple doctor, chiropractic, and massage appointments. That's too bad about the Durango. That is still the good looking generation. All the rest look stupid to me.

I am curious as well, and will post up over time on them. I really want to play in some snow with them.

The BAMF shock relocation buckets came in today. As well as the CMC plates. Sprayed them down with 3m rubberized coating. Just waiting on the 12" rear kings to get built and shipped up from downsouthmotorsports. When those come in I can start performing surgery..
