Sitting on the sofa with my husband, I'm playing on the iPad, he's reading.

Me: (whispered) oh my, you're a sexy beast.
Hubs: what? Your girlfriends sending you men in kilts photos again?
    Me: look!
Him: That's a truck bumper. (Rolls eyes)
Me: yes! And I just ordered it!

Up by Pollock Pines is getting to be a little ridiculous. Even within the last year I have seen a huge increase in dipshits that are going up there to shoot. Perfect example: My brother and I were out there a few weeks ago shooting and a group of fellas came roaring up to our spot in their dodge rams and starting setting up camp right in the same shooting spot as us. None of them came up to introduce themselves or let us know what their plan was. Then about 15 minutes later, im throwing clays, and my brother is shooting them from the right... and one of the guys comes up behind my brother and starts shooting his AR15 at a tree. Lost my shit...... then my brother and I ended up packing up and leaving. Mind you, we were also off the "beaten path" at one of our usual little spots that hardly sees human activity. Kinda uneezy sometimes being up there and not knowing who you will come across.

Never shot out in BFE, but spent a lot of time at Cow Mountain's shooting range. Too many fuck jobs running around for me not to have a concealed handgun with a round in the chamber every time.

I don't know who is there for what (shooting would be the obvious) or if they just finished polishing different rounds at the bar before they show up. I went up for years before carrying full time there, but one day some guy showed up who looked like the massively anti-social kind, with a Ruger pistol in a factory case. He set it down and took the gun out and just stood behind everybody like he was waiting to go put a target out. After a few minutes, shooting stop and the line was no longer hot and he didn't do anything but stand there like he had been and look around at everybody. Dude was legit weird and set my alarm off. I loaded my Glock and kept it in the belt holster until he left, which was about 20 minutes later and without firing a single round from his gun.

Few months after that we were up there shooting and a small group showed up, 3 guys and a female. They were drinking beer and obnoxious, and generally behaving like morons. We packed up and left, and not long after that the head weirdo was in the Press Democrat for shooting an officer at the Ukiah Walmart off of Talmage. IIRC, the girl that was there was caught stealing, and he opened fire on the officer escorting her to his car. Officer took fire and was wounded, and his ride along ended up being told how to remove the officers sidearm and returned fire to the guy, who later died.

We go to theBLM land outside of Hollister. So far we have had the entire place to ourselves. We have more trouble with morons at Metcalf than anything else. Just went shooting there this Saturday in the rain. Place was empty compared to what it normally is.

Man now i want to go shooting again.

Its like that all over the forest up there in the M.E.T. area. Dozens of impromptu shooting areas that seem to attract more morons, than responsible shooters. They also leave tons of trash when they leave (including garbage that they hauled up specifically to be targets). I've been volunteering up there the last couple of years, to help clean up after these knuckle-draggers. We usually gather and haul out up a dumpster-load in about 3 hours. I wouldn't be surprised if the EDNF shut down some of these areas, if not all. The Forest Superviser is much more patient than I would be.

old man used to take my brother and I out to Bowman Lake. 7 years old was when I learned to shoot a Colt 1911. First thing he told me was "when you come out here to shoot, always pick up your casings and trash, don't be the asshole who ruins it for everyone.

This is the shit that makes my blood boil.

I rarely shoot at gun ranges anymore. I get strict enough range control in the Army. I always go out to BLM or NF. I usually setup multi targets n the like for 3-gun style shooting. I can't stand when city slickers from the come up, back up the drop bracket diesels and full on folding tables littered with 20+ guns. Not to mention boxes of sodas, jugs of whatever and they just shoot it all over the place.

I've yelled at a few groups to pick up their shit, but typically stay away from the city rednecks acting crazy. I'll normally call forest service on my way out to let them know about the way they're treating the area.

Started caring more once my first couple spots became unreachable by Forest Service planted boulders blocking trails.

Bad apples will ruin it for everyone. Honestly the more I witness it, the more I am for some stricter form of gun control. I see way too many idiots out there doing stupid shit. Then I realize Darwin is still alive and well and I hope they don't hurt anyone else.
