I really like this idea. Has anybody installed a bar like this that has that orange film on it to help with rain and such?

If not can I buy that film somewhere?

@rysingsun , can you give me a more detail to wire the new switch, I'm not good with wire and electrical, I bought a light bar and a mic tuning switch also, I also buying the same harness you have that way it would be super easy to copy the same wire set up from you. Thanks

I took all the wiring from the bed light switch and only pulled one cable to the relay at engine bay. This just to make sure my light bar turns off when lights are off. I combined the ilumination and the power to the switch so actually the signal to the relay is the ilummination from the dome light switch.

So I just got this light bar as a gift from my fiancé... but I noticed this has three bolts to mount into the frame it looks like... anyway I can use the cali raised brackets on this bar? To me it doesn't seem like it. Thanks in advance... also if I can't use a bracket anyone see an easy way to mount this bar?

So I'm real late to the party... I just got a Rough Country Flush lower grill light bar and installed it on Saturday. Will this switch fit my truck? I've only got three wires going to my interior switch

Basically, is the size correct? 1.54 x 0.83 inch ?

    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0117B1J3W/ref=twister_B01HZ8MITK?th=1

and what about a hanger for the relays? It looks like shit hanging from that fuse box screw...

sorry, I'm sure this is all in here but my wife really wants this done soon

@Z50king I'm just a few steps ahead of you. I bought the same switch. Removed blank switch tonight and its seems to fit fine. I've put out a few questions to some of the guys re the wiring as well. From what I can tell the RED2 does not need to be hooked up??? It can be hooked up to the dash lights from what I decipher on the wiring diagram. Anybody, please chime in and correct me if I'm wrong. Trying to figure out how to pair up the wires myself still.

IF I wanted to hook up to dimmer, I assume it's just the dash light dimmer that controls it??

I read that you can splice into the light green wire from the bed light switch and that will illuminate it. Based on some of the reviews, I don't think I want the dash lighting running it because the constant LED will probably burn out quick that way.

    thanks

Here's what it looks like now. Went with the Rough Country when it was on sale. The job was quick except for dremelling out the grill slits and trying to get those damned crash bar nuts off. Those were so tight! I went with the flush mount.

How are you guys adjusting it? Horizontal or a little above?

I've got my MicTuning switch installed. My brackets and lightbar have been shipped.

In the meantime, I've been attempting to hack into the dimmer circuit without any luck. Right now the switch is wired to the green wire in the Cargo Light wiring (for switch-lighting only). It's way toooo bright for my eyes but at least it only comes on when my lights are on. I've poked around with the other wires in that cluster. The tan wire increases voltage when you dim the dash lights (+12V down to about 8.5V). What the heck????

It's starting to get above my pay grade to include this switch in the dimmer circuit so I said to hell with it and just ordered a LightDims sheet to quiet it down.

How do I drop the lower dash panel to replace the switch?

I'm using the slot on the panel to the left of the steering wheel. That panel with the inset panel box pops out with a butter knife.

I’m attempting to wire up my Baja S8 light bar. Any ideas why both lights in my Mic Tuning switch would turn off when the switch is activated (and light bar is on)? I believe everything is wired correctly (via green wire from cargo light, etc.). The lower words part is lit when de-pushed, but when I push the switch to "on", both lights in the switch turn off. Tried a second Mic Tuning switch with the same result.

I assume you've got the green cargo-light wire connected to the MicTuning Red-2 wire (next to the black)?

Correct. The switch’s green is going to the hot wire. Black is going to the ground wire. Red 2 is going to the cargo wire.

If Red 1 is tapped into the ground wire, then both lights (top/bottom) in the switch work as intended, but the light bar doesn't turn on. If Red 1 is not tapped into anything, then the light bar operates, but both lights in the switch go off when the switch is pressed on.

    Thoughts?

EDIT: Any chance the relay built into Baja's wire harness might be the culprit?

That green cargo wire is only hot when your headlights are on.

    I'm betting that's the problem.

Negative. Same result with or without the headlights (and cargo switch light) on... except that the lower light on the switch doesn't light up when the headlights are off, of course.

I appreciate the ideas... any more thoughts?
