Wasn't contesting that. My highway mileage is pretty much the same if I drive normally (like a grandpa). In town I've lost a couple mpg (6MT 4wd).

    I haven't seen 21 mpg since I sold my 2TRFE truck.

The one on my Shelby catches quite a bit. Since it's more convenient to empty, I do so every 1K-2K miles. As I understand it, more oil vapor is trapped under vacuum (rather than boost) conditions.

The ADD W1 is the one I'm considering. Is it as stout as it appears? Mounting options are my biggest concern.

That mirrors my experience with my supercharged 1st Gen. (Still need to install this one. :anonymous:)

IIRC, the brake booster is part of the TRD Off Road package.

This also mirrors my supercharged 1st Gen experience.

    That IS odd.

The (TRD OR) ATRAC system relies on a hydraulic brake booster. Other models have a regular vacuum booster. The difference is obvious in this thread. The first pic is an ATRAC-equipped TRD OR booster. (Ignore the side conversation about the MT clutch reservoir.) The second pic is a "normal" vacuum booster. Note the TRD OR's absence of a large disc vacuum booster behind a larger brake fluid reservoir.

Yup front grill that was the only place I have room under the hood. Good location it has a drain valve so easy to access to drain it.

Basically this is my part list for the 42 Draft Designs Stealth Can I bought back in 2013. Missing are the 0.5" MNPT / barb fittings and hoses for the supply and return and maybe some odds and ends. Going to mount it using a custom 304 mounting plate as close as I can to minimize hose run length.

All Tacomas equipped with Vehicle Stability Control use the hydraulic brake booster (not the black doughnut looking thing) whereas all Tacomas not equipped with VSC come with the vacuum brake booster (doughnut).

My 2010 Off Road PreRunner does not have VSC.

My 2014 Off Road 4WD does.

Beginning in 2010 IIRC, all 4WD OR models started coming equipped with VSC/hydraulic brake booster, although there are reports of earlier models having the hydraulic booster.

In short: if you have the black doughnut against the firewall, you have a vacuum brake booster. If you don't, you have the hydraulic brake booster.

Fun Fact: The brake bleeding procedure is different for each system.

Found this in the sending unit! Not sure what it is. Looks like black shavings. It was also in the tank. Had to clean the tank and sending unit. Redoing the hose routing and adding another band to hold the fuel pump

Mine has done the transmission shift thing a couple of times but it only happened after trying to flash with the Bully Dog. It didn't do after "uninstall download" going back to the TRD flash.

Mine has the regular brake booster. So my LTR reservoir is mounted there in that area where your catch can and clutch master cylinder are. I'll probably have to make a bracket with my Harbor Freight welder and metal brake. Sounds like fun!

Of course. That was just the mock up. Wanted to make sure everything looked good compressed.
Unfortunately the pump was not the problem. Something else is causing it to lean out like crazy. Thinking it's partially the bd tuner. It's not getting enough fuel at high Rpms. And still getting the p0101 maf check engine light. Kinda pissed about the intake. I may just pull it off and put the stock one back on. The truck only started acting up after I had cleaned the maf sensor. I won't have time to mess with it until after Christmas.

Pretty much the symptoms I had. Lean under boost and P0101 every couple of days. Since going to the dealer and getting the mystery reset done, it's been all good. Sort of stays at stoichiometric until you mash the throttle a little harder then the AFR gauge starts heading to the left.

I wouldn't take off the intake. I doubt that has anything to do with it.

Good to know. I'm going to try and stop by the dealer this week before work and see if they'll do the flash. Was going to call and ask but would rather go in and explain to them what I need done. There are about three dealers near me. One is about 5 minutes away, the other 20 minutes and the last one about 40 minutes. I'm hoping one of them will do it and hopefully not refuse to do it since it's not TRD branded. If not there is a Toyota tech in there area that might be willing to do it.

Well it was a do or die weekend in attempting to install the SC. And sadly I only got to number 109, in the instruction book. And have to fly out of town tomorrow.

Anyone know, or have an option of letting the truck sit for 10 days as is, if it's safe for the truck?

I'd just secure and cover all engine openings. Maybe label things and take some pictures to remind yourself of what and where everything is.

I know it's frustrating, my intake threw the code a few times initially too. I doubt it's the intake also though. Do what u feel is right but I'd get the reflate done and give it another week to "learn" the new setting along with the new SC and see how it goes.

    Good luck!
