If I didn't have a manual, a remote start would have been one of my first mods.

 

I installed a block heater and tranny heater though (couldn't find a way to fit an oil pan heater). Haven't tried them out yet hopefully they will help.

 

I want remote start... But I think I need to wait till I leave Loudoun County... Someone told me that if LC finds your car running with no one in it, they will write you a ticket. Haven't confirmed.

 

Never heard that one. I have heard if you go out and start your vehicle and it gets stolen, you may be liable since you left it running with keys in it. But not sure how true that one is.

 

Guess it's time to do some research...

 

That's a law in many States....

But many States also say "with Keys in the ignition" .....

 

Have you seen the kbvoodoo one? Works with OEM key fob. Ill tag you when i see it

 

i wouldnt get it because you have to use your key to unlock the door to get in. i always one that has its own remote so you can use that to unlock an lock the truck no need for factory one or key to get in

 

But I have the smart key, so just fob proximity, and touch the door handle. Would that work?

 

And i think this one is only for the 15-16

Got a random question here...do any 2nd gen guys need a replacement front skid splash guard that comes stock on the truck? I got a new front skid and figured I would see if anyone needs it before I decide to offer it up on the boards. It has some scratches but is in pretty good condition. Free if someone wants it.

So you will have to restart the truck when you get in it, as when the door is opened it cuts off the truck....

 

I get that. But at least my testicles might stay where they belong!

 

That's how my wifes pilot is. It was a dealer add on when we bought it.

 

I thought how it works is, you remote start, then unlock and get in, and turn the key to the on position. Its already started, so you don't have to do that half turn to activate the starter

 

With push to start it does not work that way....
