    Tossing around the idea of selling the bedrack, swingout, and rear bumper and going to an hc rear bumper with a tire carrier as well as getting gears and an arb locker. Thoughts?

    I've never heard that. This isn't a welded diff we're talking about. Get a mechanical locker made for the street and it's hardly different then running any style clutch type lsd (which comes factory in some cars). The premise behind a clutch type lsd or locking lsd is that under load both wheels will always spin at the same speed no matter how much weight is transfered to either wheel or how much "slip" either wheel sees. Kind of an on/off switch but then will be modulated further by the cars factory traction control, stability management and abs systems. The difference between this style locker and a locker such as the Powertrax is your right foot controls how locked the wheels are under load. Enough torque applied and it locks both axles together, not enough torque applied and it runs open. It also allows for modulation of locking/ unlocking when seeing wheel speed differences from side to side. For instance when turning a corner, the inside wheel will always have less distance to travel meaning less tire rotations. The locker performs a sort of ratcheting sequence of locking/ unlocking rapidly to increase and decrease that inside tires speed but once again, this is modulated by your right foot giving you the opportunity to leave the locker "open" or fully locked.

    I agree. Research the difference between a lsd, automatic locker, selectable locker and spool and their advantages and disadvantages. Once you're familiar with that and feel comfortable with what the differences are, diregard everything you just read and buy an automatic mechanic locker for your street beast and enjoy. :D

    Anyone on here electrical savvy, as far as original wiring goes for these trucks? One of the electrical harnesses for the AC control panel seems to be getting hot and melting on one of the pins in the dash. I've tried google and all I find is blower motor issues on a different harness. I'd post pictures but photobucket is kinda screwed right now after my software update. I've got a picture already in my build thread that might help. These are from when I first noticed it. It's deff still happening.

    I don't want to take this issue to the dealership but I don't know what's left to check. I also haven't messed with this wiring harness before but have others so I don't know if it could be something I've done. It does however look like the same wire to the blower motor which is known to have issues. Any help is much appreciated.
