I really liked the DynaPro ATM's. Quiet, smooth, handled well in the rain, and balanced easy. The ATM P265/75r16's only cost me .75 - 1mpg.

EDIT: OR and ATM combo is 3lbs heavier than the factory Steel and 245's. 63.8lbs to 60.7lbs

So going to a p265/75r16 is the most I should go? But still losing power.

 

That's the largest you can fit without modifying things.

And you'll lose power. Less with a P metric tire, more with a C rated, even more with a D rated, and even more still with an E rated.

 

Hey, feel free to do as you like, but do YOU think bigger tires will make your truck look better? If you do, then cool...but if you're getting bigger tires because you've been told that it would look better by other people, then I may re-assess.

 

I think it will look cool. I also weighed in the option of trading in my truck for a v6 4x2 for more power. So that I could lift my truck and add nice tires and rims.

Maybe I'm weird, but I think a slightly more aggressive tire at stock size is pretty nice looking. I went from the stock 245/75 16 to the other stock size, 265/65 17 (Cooper Discoverer AT3) ... couldn't be happier (I also got wheels with a 0 offset). Then again, I'm not young, nor am I new to this.

If you are not happy with the power loss you can change the gears in the front and rear Diff to get them back to stock equivalent with the bigger tires.

 

You should do exactly what everyone else one here thinks you should do. Never think for yourself.... it's DANGEROUS.

Have a voice brother. If you like it, do it... Screw the populous. As for losing power and MPG, you can't do shit to these trucks in 4 cyl or V6 that doesn't rob power or decrease the already shitty mileage they get. Currently running 265/70/17 K"BRO"2's (C rated) on my 3.5 V6 and lost 1.5 mpg out of the gate. That said, if i wanted a fuel efficient vehicle...the TACO would not have been my first choice anyway. I bought the TACO for its functionality, reliability and its all around bad assedness.

Depends on the size. 265/70/16 or 265/75/16 can be bought in a C-rated or at least Discount Tire told me they could.
