I use it almost everyday from October-March, and depending on how hot it is (above around 80) I'll use it in the summer. It's especially nice during corn harvesting season in Nebraska because I used to just keep my windows down but it's too dusty to do that with the wind here so it's good to cool down the cab before I start driving. I love having it and I installed some heated seats about a month ago and it's so nice to start my truck about 10 minutes before I leave and get in with a warm truck and toasty seats! Also if you do install heated seats I would definitely recommend the kit I used. Factory look, easy install, and they work great.

Awesome, thanks man! I'll scroll through and look up the kit you used to add it to my list. Did you install seat covers too? I'm not sure that I want to get seat covers too, but it seems like I only see the heaters with covers.

No problem! Everything I use is in my first post to save you some time. I did install seat covers but I put the seat heater under the factory covers. Removing them isn't actually that difficult. I have a good write up linked near the heaters that I used for removing the seat covers. However you can put the seat heaters that I used between the factory and aftermarket seats if you wanted to go that way.

Is there a need to add seat covers with the heaters? Did you ever run the heaters for any period of time without the covers?

No there's no need to. I used them for about 2 months without covers and they worked great. They take about 10 seconds longer to heat up with covers on.

Wes, all you need to do is follow the instructions from the video and everything will work perfectly. Other than getting into a warm truck in the winter one of the things I like the most is the doors locking when you remote start the truck, that is a really nice feature with this unit.

For Christmas I asked for, and luckily received some sly no drill license plate brackets. I decided to put them to good use until I move to Alaska in February. 'MERICA

I noticed on my 2013 TRD O/R that there are wiring harnesses plugged into the blanks where the seat heaters would be in a Limited, the same blank locations you used. Did you notice this when you did your seat heater Mod? If so, do you know if all of the wiring is already there down to the seats?

There was no wiring behind mine so I'm not sure if it's pre wired in yours or not. That would be pretty awesome though! I'll look around to see if I can find the answer, but I would disconnect the battery and take a front seat out if you can and see if there's any "extra" plugs under the seat. If there is time to break out the multi meter to see if those wires are the same ones as behind the switch.

I've had the seat loose, but never all the way out. There is one yellow Airbag connector and at least one other connector that I would expect to go to the seat belt lock. I haven't taken the carpet up to see if there is anything hiding under there. It would be awesome especially if the connectors matched up!

Yea that would be sweet! Here's a thread on this exact topic. Seems to have some good info, but I don't see a distinct answer. I'll keep looking but maybe I'm over looking it.

hey david, I just looked into your block heater mod and had no idea it was that easy!! so it just slides into a hole in the driver side with some dielectric grease, you run the loom and you're done!??!

Hey Mike. It is pretty simple. I'm not sure if there are any differences in the 14 to 15 though. There was a metal bracket that is supporting an electrical connector in front of the hole that I removed and cut away at to fit the heater. The hardest part was getting a socket in that position to remove the bracket. If that bracket isn't in the way though it does simply slide in with grease and run the wire.

Pop out your AC control pc (the plastic one with the knobs). You can use a credit card or something thin like that and just pop it off. Disconnect the plugs to move it out of the way.

Then you'll see 4 hex bolts. 2 are right there in front of you basically, and the other two are a bit "hidden" but easy to spot.

Unscrew them and then just slowly pop off the radio trim bezel, and then you can pull the radio out and disconnect all the plugs.

    Make sense?
