Was curious if anyone has noticed taped up wires under their seats?
    I bought a 2015 Tacoma (TRD Offroad).

I just finished changing the skins from factory to a full leather skin from John Huey, on the driver's side I noticed this bundle of wires taped up.... Anyone know what they are for? I will have to take the passenger seat back out and open up the looming... as I do not see the same wires taped up.

I had the dealership include 2 factory switches and the male connectors so that I can integrate the katzkin heaters into the blanks in the dash.

    Part #s are:
    84751-0T010 (Left switch)
    84751-0T020 (Right switch)

90980-12368 (Left male plug) -->10 pin plug, only 3 are used
    Pinout used: #4 = ground,
    #7 = to seat heater
    #9 = 12v igntion, 10amp (shared with right heater)
90980-12551 (Right male plug) --> 8 pin plug, only 3 are used
    Pinout used: #3 = ground,
    #5 = to seat heater
    #7 = 12v igntion, 10amp (shared with right heater)

Got the dash apart right now... I see there are factory pre-wires for the heater switches
If anyone has knowledge of this, can you lend me a hand?

Has anyone noticed/seen the other end of these wires that would plug into the seat heaters? The factory said there would be 3 wires in each plug, so I was surprised to see 5 in each plug. No clue what they are...

well.... until I get more info on the subject, I am holding on the to factory switches, but went ahead and installed the katzkins switches into the blanks. Was a little hard for me to put a drill into a new truck, but I can always purchase new blanks if I need for probably $45/ea?? (its called a stealer-ship right???... LOL)

The factory switches do have a disadvantage... they use resistor circuitry to sense when the seats get to a certain temp, then shutoff until they cool down enough, then turn back on. This can somewhat defeat the purpose of having nice warm/hot seats.

The katzkins switches do 2 things warm and HOT. They do not auto shutoff...

I took the dash apart looking for where the wires went... but all I found was massive brain damage and frustration......... ugh!

new switches installed (until I get more info) They dont look half bad in this location.

You're a brave soul to tear your brand new truck down that much. Looks like it went together again pretty well though!

That photo reminds me of the scene in "The French Connection" where they tore the car apart looking for the drugs. (One of the great movies of all time.)

yeah... its was apart in less than 20min. just grabbed a wrench and couple screwdrivers and went to town! I have a photographic memory, so that helps in putting things back together. Of course I can't have anything to drink in between the tear down and re-assembly as I have found (from previous experiences) that is creates a potential issue for spare parts to accumulate. But then again, it is still runs in the end, then you just have a weight savings... right? LOL

did have one yellow clip break on me, will have to get a new one at the stealer-ship for the center console.

I'm fairly certain that the factory Toyota seat heaters have six settings (five wires to the switch). The lowest would be off, then they five settings that get progressively hotter. There's a wire for each setting. Take a look at the factory switches that you've got, the little dial should have five clicks to it. Some seats have three positions, off, warm, hot. It looks like that's the type that you've currently got. I've got similar that I installed in my 1st gen. I ordered these ones for my second gen:

    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01015AG2A?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00

They're the closest I've found to the factory style control. I still need to install them in my '15. I'm going to take a look and hopefully find the truck somewhat pre-wired like yours. These will be the second set of heaters that I'll be attempting to install. The first set didn't work and the return process turned into a huge PITA (find out where the heaters ship from. If they ship direct from China, move along to the next seller)

I'll update here with what I find when I install my heaters in regards to factory wiring

Are the additional two wires green and green with white stripe? Those are the internal switch light to match interior lighting.

I bought an eBay kit with those switches and installed them in the same location

That bundle of wires under the seat, they all appear to be White with a Black Stripe. Those are all ground wires.

The Warm Seats that I had came with a three way rocker switch that went "On-Off-On" with one "On" being high heat (with a red LED) and the other being low (with a green LED).

Here are the switches installed in my 1st gen. I'm pretty sure the cigarette lighter is the same size as in my '15 to give you a switch size idea:

    DSCN4520_9bc368f9af232e2937506a6bf1497b29c40294d4.jpg

And here's how I wired 'em up. The left side of the dotted line was the Warmseats harness, the right is how I connected to the truck. (I usually do a drawing of this stuff before I install just to make sure there aren't any surprises)

    SCAN0025_004a1954b25011aa1462884619596513d6bca291.jpg

It looks like I'm going to have to wait a little bit before I can install the new heaters in the '15. Need to make some space so that I can get the truck into the garage and out of the weather to do the work.

I got these also - the switches do match the OEM style.

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01015AG2A?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00

I just put them into my 2009 TRD sport - no factory wiring that I could see.

I pulled power from the battery through a relay, and used an empty but switched circuit in the fuse box to turn them on with the key.

I also had to take apart the inside of the truck to get to the switch location - but managed to get it all back together. Wife loves them now, but she never saw it when it was all apart - think she might have been worried. Bonus - basically she got her truck detailed since I cleaned up the inside before putting it back together.
