So far so good! No codes popping up (yet)

Although Small tests yesterday just driving around a couple blocks. Checking for leaks and whatnot. Found one on the connection to the coolant resevoir hose that's coming from the pump.

If the weather is decent today, will definitely do some open throttle tests!

I've got about 400 miles on my SC now with no codes coming up. I still check for leaks and park in places where I can see stuff dripping. That first start-up was a nervous sumbitch, but all was well. Before that I had a huge leak as I dumped new coolant into the radiator. Luckily that was a simple fix... I didn't put back one of the oil cooler lines on the water manifold during my rushed install. Further evidence that I'm a dumbass more than I'm a smartass.

The truck was loaded down heavier than it has ever been before (including my camp trailer) for my weekend outing and my trans temps were creeping up over 200 with all of the shifting on hills and such. I was going too fast. Slowed down and temps were a lot more friendly. I think I'll be flushing the transmission later in the spring before summer trips go down. Maybe add a second transmission cooler to help towing and hauling if I can swing that.

Bet you didn't have that problem before the S/C install :burnrubber:

Kinda. I've always had a lead food coming from v8s, and the 4.0 can hold its own NA. I don't really feel like I'm going much faster now with the SC, but I also added over 500 pounds of steel to the truck the same weekend I did the SC install. I didn't get to see how it scoots on boost without the armor :(

I can break the tires loose easily with stock gearing, 33's, a Shrockworks front bumper, sliders, and quite a bit of sound deadening in the cab. Granted, the are numerous folks carrying more weight.

But you're right, I've often wondered what it would be like if I stripped all that weight off.

seriously though I've learned to put it in 4wd if I'm going to shoot a gap from a stop ... if not those rears just spin in place like a puppy chasing his tail

Well, still haven't done any wide throttle drives on the highway yet as it has been raining in the Bay Area.

Nonetheless, I have a slow drip coming from the connection of the hose that's coming from the pump into the resevoir. I've tightened down the worm clamp as comfortable as I am, and it still drips. Any thoughts on how to remedy this?

You could try a wider clamp, and/or go in 1/8 turn increments.

I noticed the plastic on the reservoir is somewhat rough textured and it takes time for the hose to fully bond. You could try something like a thin layer silicone, but then you run the risk of making things worse when you need to remove the hose.

Thanks Harry, I'll go with a wider clamp, or an additional clamp placed towers the end of the nipple (tee hee :). ).

Next mod I want to do soon is install a catch can. I didn't realize the VCS ties directly into the SC. So to help maintain the thing a catch can is a good idea. I've seen a few people with T mount that ties into the same bolts used to attach the Resevoir to the truck. Anyone know where I can get that mount?

For you guys with the AFR gauge, when Im cruising on the highway and start on a hill I get boost to 5psi without downshifting and the AFR gauge goes a little lean the whole time (from 0 to 5 psi) AFR reading 15.3 the leanest Ive seen. However when taking off from a stop I can get to 10 or 11 pretty easily. Just seems weird that on the fwy when going up a big hill and in boost the afr gauge goes from 14.7 to 15.3 incrementally. Maybe I do need fuel pump? Or maybe this is normal? haha I dont really know

Maybe the BD tune is the reason? How about with TRD flash, do you guys have any lean issues with it?

Is that really a lean issue though?

What are other afr readings with the bd tune under slight acceleration on the fwy while in boost going up a hill? I even notice that with no boost it leans out to around 15 under partial throttle. But like I said if you give the throttle a good push the gauge reads 10 or 11..

Are you saying ECU tries to keep lambda 1 (14.7:1) to 4000 rpm with TRD reflash? In closed loop and open loop?

6 PSI of boost and 14.5:1, not good.

It's not wide open throttle and not full load. When you apply more throttle it snaps to 11ish.
