I thought it was my tires until my gf got in the truck after being gone for 2ish months and went "why are your tires so loud?"

And its mainly the drivers side.

Pretty certain my one tire didn't just wear super bad suddenly.

Ah gotcha. I already have two bearings waiting for me, going to get a set of donor spindles, do the gussets and put fresh bearings in them. Figure it's at 210k, best do it while it's all apart.

Yea. I have some spindles, just not sure I trust they are straight as they are from Frankenstein's LBJ explosions haha

Id like to do the gussets as well but will just have to wait. If I can find time to get this done period itll be nice haha

Good thing you have this here. All of a sudden my brakes went soft. I checked when I got to work and saw brake fluid. Wiped everything down threw down fine dust on everything. I came back to the truck 5 mins later and saw a wet line of brake fluid coming from the bottom of the booster. Not very happy right now knowing it's my own dam fault by adding a little bit to much pressure to the rear with the valve. Well fuck now I'm going to have to replace my booster. Thanks for the write up. I still need to read it tho. All well....

Edit: read through looks simple enough now the hard part telling my wife I need money for truck parts.
Mother of fucking shit! $647.22 fuck up

Wait, the booster never has any brake fluid in it. ever.

So the MC is what is leaking or one of the lines coming out of it.

Yeah that's what Tim told me. It was dark when I saw it. It might be between the MC and the booster. Both lines coming out of the MC are dry. I'll check it later now that the sun is up.

ah if its coming out the back of the MC then you blew a seal.

    That sucks.

But a lot cheaper then $670 haha

Id offer you one of mine but they are the 4 bolt flange ones that i have left over. wont fit sadly.

Thanks for considering it. But no big deal. I have a dealer next to me where I could get a seal from if need one. I'll keep you posted.

Ahh so you ended up going back to stock booster and MC? I still have the T100 stuff, it's either gotten better or I'm just used to it now lol.
I think you're right, most guys who do this are running D60's with massive GM calipers so they need the fluid volume.
Didn't you say you had a tundra 15/16" MC that would work with the single diaphragm booster? I'd be curious to know how that setup works.

AH! I couldn't remember your screen name to tag you in this!

    Glad you found it.

Its SOOO much better with the single and 13/16'' MC man. Id recommend swapping. I had gotten pretty used to the feel with the dual and the t100 MC. But this is way better.

I don't have a 15/16'' tundra one. Just the 1'' and 1 1/16'' one. I think some 4runners came with a 15/16s one and is 4 bolt flange. Would be curious how that feels too.

Damn, I may have to go back to stock then. I need all the stopping power I can get with 35s and the SC lol.
I'll probably do a manual BPV at the same time, looks pretty simple from your write up but I may have questions.

It stops the same distance; its just easier and more reassuring with the Tundra brakes and they don't overheat and warp as quick. But stopping is all about your tires/grip, not brakes.

That said, I love the feel of the tundra brakes, especially with the steal lines. Grip is immediate and you don't have to stand on the pedal to stop quickly.

Oh yeah I have the tundra calipers, I thought I could improve it further by going with a dual diaphragm booster and 1-ton MC, but I found out like @Blackdawg that it really doesn't work as well.
I've just been too lazy to do anything about it.

Yea man if you still have the parts, do it. Took me like 30 mins haha

Im not 100% sold on the MBPV but i think its just cause my rear shoes are worn out. I'll replace them this summer.

The smaller MC was well worth it though.

I could never get the rears to lock up when i messed with mine. turning the dial never seemed to change anything. Now mines froze up and wont hardly turn. need to put in the engine bay where its out of the elements.

My rear shoes weren't even close to the drum. Brett and I had to adjust them quit a bit but once they where touching it was night and day on the brakes. You'll like the valve once you get new shoes this summer. With the tundra brakes I noticed that the front doesn't want to lock up as quickly as the Tacoma brakes. But the tundra brakes feel like they grip better. Like there is more smooth pressure throughout the pedal until you stop. But this is just me. I also wear heavy ass boots all the time so that will change the feeling of the pedal.

ah i was gonna say because my tundras lock up the wheels easily. Well now they do. Didn't before with the dual booster and T100 MC. Like so much so that i almost wish i had ABS again for winter driving here lol but not really haha

Could be the setting on the valve. I have a lot more to the rear then the front. I really need to set up some kind of dial marking on the valve and see where it's at.
