Your trimming front cuz you caster is set wayyy forward. At 3* caster I only had minimal trim to inner rear plastic fender behind driver tires. Never touched my liners and never did cam mount chop. She was good to go even off road.

It's likely because your caster is cranked. Think about how caster works. Yeah you push the front tire forward at ride height but at full stuff and compression its bringing the tire closer to the cab mount/firewall.

How many miles can we get out of these tires?

I am thinking of 245/75/16 for my Gen 1

You have sold me on a set of the 265/75/16 Coopers. I had been contemplating 255 or 285 but I think I have made my decision on the 265. I am running almost the exact setup as you. Did you solve the rubbing issues associated with the installation of the 1.25in wheel spacer?

Mostly I think. I ground and hammered the pinch welds today and feel a lot more comfortable with how it looks now. At some point I'll swap the 10mm fender bolts out for machine screws with countersunk washers as shown on expedition west's website when they install the 255/85 bfg m/t's. I think if I'd gone any bigger I'd need to regear for the taller tire, but with the 4.10 5spd V6 I can get by. You're probably better off than me since you don't the weight penalty of my massive expedition shell. Also fwiw there were less rubbing issues back there before the wheel spacers than after. I think .5" - .75" spacers with the stock wheels would be ideal or just finding new wheels with the correct backspace to have the same effect.

    http://www.expeditionswest.com/equipment/tacoma/bfg_mt_km.html

Thanks burrito! Super stoked on the setup now that things are getting all sorted out and dialed in. Will definitely be doing a build thread including interior of the shell at some point. I'll make sure to post a link on here and in the signature bar when I do!

Thanks lotus. More than with the STT Pro's or most other M/T tires! I'm still under 1000mi on mine so I can't comment from experience, but based on what I read in the thread I'm hoping for 20k before their off-road performance starts to decline and up to 50k if I were to run them into the ground. Driving style, weight of truck and terrain probably have a huge effect on this as well. If you read through the thread 'these wear like iron' is a common denominator here. I looked at 235/85r16 also before committing to the larger 32" 265/75r16's. Might be a little narrow for soft terrain, but probably would get the best gas milage out of all those choices.

Also I was concerned about the 'pulling right' issue that many mentioned and am happy to report 0 issues with my 265/75's in that respect.

@TurtleTruckTraveler did you have any issues with your camber after you installed your OME lift?

How much have y'all paid for 265/75/16s?

@Jacob032 Nope. All good. I did the 2883 coils and took it to wheel works for alignment and they were able to set it up w/o issue.

Have you checked out the show off you OME 1st gen thread? Lots of good info on there for that lift kit on our trucks.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/old-man-emu-setups-on-1st-gen.141055/

I paid $215/tire from the shop + install fees was just over $1k. I was able to find a 'used' 265/75 for $180 shipped with nearly no visible use on it to get a 5th full size spare. Online I see ~$210 as the best deals after tax/shipping.

I just want to say while I love my Cooper ST Maxx, and will be buying another set when the time comes. I was very impressed that they survived my Dalton Highway trip without any punctures or flats. However sadly they did get high spots on two of them from getting knocked around. Maybe this would've happened to any tire and I just have such high expectations of these since I know what they're capable of. But it still sucks. Luckily they've kind of flattened out and the ride has become more smooth over the past 8000 miles.

Tried them out in the snow for the first time tonight. 30 psi was alittle high and ended up getting stuck, buried my wheels in snow and the ice didnt help. Lowered them to 20 psi, a couple branches under the tires, and some persuasion I got out. Then down the road, some guys in an old Rav4, I believe, were buried to the frame and I pulled them out no problem. Still impressed with these tires, I plan to buy again in the future. ( sorry no pics )
