Super Annoying Door Seal Noise.

I've got this terrible "clicking/ticking" noise coming from my drivers side door. So far I haven't been able to figure out the exact cause. I've been all over the forum, and have found a few older threads on it, but can't find exactly what the cause might be.

Does anyone know of a surefire fix to stop the door seal clicking? Video below:

I've also got the dreaded Kazoo noise when driving into wind, or a cross wind is hitting me. Same for that, I've found a lot of threads, but it's been blamed on everything from the grill, to the mirror to the door. Any ideas? Here's the vid:

Try the $1 bill test. Run a bill around the seal with the door closed and you should feel some drag on the bill; if you don't, that could be the problem

 

What does drag on the bill indicate?

That the seal is bad or good?

You need to get in the habit of cleaning those seals good with a wet rag when you wash your truck. Clean the seals and the metal where the seals touch. Then apply some sort of rubber treatment to them.
I use aerospace 303 protectant and works well. It keeps the seals pliable and prevents them from drying out. When they dry out, they lose there flexibility and do not seal properly, thus the noise.

 

I hope the seal is good, it's a '15 with only 20k miles on it

I'll try the dollar bill trick. Whats the fix, if it's bad? I have very little faith in my local stealership.

 

I will do that, where do you get the 303 at? Also they feel really pliable and new, truck only has 20k miles on it and is a '15, so it's not real old.

There was a tsb recently released for this. I have the same issue but I haven't gone to the dealer yet.

There's a TSB for door seals. Good luck getting your dealer to actually do it for you. I've had no luck with mine, yet.

In the mean time, I was using silicone spray on the door seal on the door, and also on the cab seal as well. Worked just fine for about 2 months, time to reapply

 

Same yr as mine, When I wipe mine I always get a lot of grit from under the door area. I bought mine on Amazon. After you clean and apply the 303 you will see a difference. There are other products, I just find that 303 can be used on different areas of the vehicle that has plastic.
