Which leaf to remove on dakars

So I got some Dakar CS047R's and I've heard you can remove a leaf for less hieght and better ride. Which leaf do I remove thou? 3rd one down or the big overload leaf?

 

I removed the third one down. Made the truck ride a whole lot better and took out some rake.

 

If the truck bed will pretty much always be empty, remove the 3rd leaf down. If you carry some weight in the bed most of the time, remove the big overload.

Full disclosure: I left all of the leaves in mine and added the OME AAL to the pack.

Doing so will decrease the spring rate by 15% and the overall lift height by 15mm. How do they ride with all the leafs on? Just wondering if it will be too stiff or not. I did buy Fox 2.0's for the rear with resis.

 

Mine are paired with bilstein 5160s but it rides great! way better ride than it ever was stock......i do however have the weight of a cap back there.

 

Did you get extended brake lines?

 

does anyone know what the spring rate is for the Dakars, as is?

In talking to ARB they say that it increases capacity but you should still follow Toyota guidelines as far as payload etc.

Depends on your build imo. If you're just going to use it light and do some road trips. Would probably recommend taking the overload out. If you're looking for height and basic appearance I guess 3rd leaf? I don't know I've got the full pack plus the AAL.
