    Slotted screws are evil, just saying. Restored an old Coast Guard surf boat years ago. Had to use period screws, brass slotted, major pain in the ass.

    I believe torques fasteners.

    My problem with those is the bit tends to shear or bend easier.

    I've hardly used them, really only when fitting trim to subtops, and they were small, forget what size now. And cheap bits.
