The salesman may be distorting the truth to get you to buy another Taco on the lot. Since the cement color is limited in production, the factory stops making cement color vehicles for a couple months, then starts making them again for a couple months, and keeps doing this cycle. When you inquired about a cement color Pro, it may have been during the timeframe that the factory was not making the any cement color vehicles.

Call this guy....he is a Toyota Truck Master.
I bought my 2016 TRD Off-road from him for $3k off MSRP back in April.....no one in Houston, TX where I live could touch that price at that time.
He is in Columbus, Ohio. Toyota West.
    I ordered mine thru Dean....took 6 weeks.
    Perfect!
You can do a search on his name on TW forum....many people have bought Toyotas, trucks from him.

Another source said the line count was 2500, distributed in the 3 colors, so that would yield about 833 cements, if allocated evenly. I do remember mostly cements hitting the lots first..so its possible they may be running near the end with no further allocations in cement, but I doubt that salesman would be able to determine that in just a few minutes..

@FX Jenkins Could be possible, though I agree the sales guy would likely not know unless perhaps he'd had an order rejected.

I did a mock build and checked inventory / pipeline via http://southeast.buyatoyota.com/Tacoma

Cement AT showed one unit coming in tomorrow. White AT showed 40+ units. Red AT showed ~20 units.

Common tactic when you walk on the lot. They want to sell you something out of their inventory. Best way to buy a car is to start with emails to area dealers. Weed out the one that want to push something on you that you do not want. I will see if I can find the link to the thread someone sent me from the Tundra forum. I have used part of what the dude wrote. He said to pick a range that you want to travel. Say 200 miles. This guy does the whole state of Texas. Email every dealer within 200 miles with the specs for exactly what you want. He also suggested setting up a dedicated email address when you do this. I have not gone that far. He said that he specified no dealer add ons but when he got to the one he bought from the sales dude said "doesn't it look nice tinted". He was going to walk because of the tint and they ended up throwing it in for free. Found the link https://www.tundras.com/threads/so-you-want-to-buy-a-tundra.10671/#post-180279

Here's a link to how I bought my OR: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...your-2017-tacoma.444691/page-17#post-13205880

Definitely create a new @gmail.com or @outlook.com address to use. In the past I've been flooded with crap emails from many of the dealers for years. Best to have it go to a throwaway mailbox you can just walk away from when you're done with it.

Also I'd highly suggest using a Google Voice or Skype phone number and NOT your home or cellphone if you should need to give out a phone number before writing up a sales order.

As above, be prepared to walk if they pull any shenanigans. If you're ordering, that should be minimized since if the truck gets delivered with something not on the sales order IMHO that's their damn problem.

the sales guy could have at least walked to the back room, shot the shit for a minute, then came back and said nope can't do. Dang this guy didn't even pretend to do work.

So I picked up my 2017 cement Tacoma TRD Pro last week. Had ordered it in August of 2016. Salesman told me there had been a problem with the early cement paint. He said they've had to change the mixture (even added a bit of glitter so it's not dull primer looking). He acted like they ran initial batch of cement, realized problem then ran white and red while they tweaked the paint. But it's back...and looks great!!!

Can't buy either on Sundays in Utah. It's against the law for dealerships to be open on Sundays.
