Looking to add skids. Also, should I replace the skid that is up front? Any suggestions.

    Thanks
    Rick

I have Pelfreybilt skids. I've chunked the shit out of them flying down PA roads and hitting rocks (teeth-breakers sometimes). Slightly dented, gouged plenty, strong as fuck.
@Pelfreybilt makes strong shit. They protect your lca alignment cams too.

Check out the RCI group buy going on this month. I replaced that tin dinner plate with their 3/16 steel plate, no comparison! Goes all the way back to the transmission

I just bought the aluminum front skid from RCI. I'm holding off on the install because I noticed there is no cut-out for the front jack point. It weighs 40 pounds and I don't want to have to wrestle with removing it every time I need to lift the front of the truck with a floor jack. I was thinking about cutting a hole for access. Have you dealt with this issue, can you just put a block of wood under the skid and lift the truck? Thanks!

when I jack up my truck I just raise it via the frame rails on the sides of the truck, then lower onto a couple of jack stands should I need to raise the other side as well. You can place a stand under the skid for center support.

I have heard of other members using their skid as a point on which to raise the truck, however I dont personally use this method.
