I'd love to bring my AR out if anyone wants to go pew pew. A couple guys at work and I go to Vacaville guns and fishing, but its indoor and we hate it, so we're trying to find something local for us to continue our monthly pew pew sessions.

 

I'll see if I can get a day at Sac Valley. I'm assuming there's enough interest on here.

Maybe let's try and coordinate a date? In a month or so?

I can definitely help with xeriscape suggestions. For example, if you have noisy neighbors, and want a nice screen...

Long term solution: Hedge of Myrica californica. Will take about 3 - 5 years to grow to 10' high. Nice sound barrier.

Short term solution: plant Lavandula stoechas (Spanish Lavender). When they bloom, shove the flower buds in your ear canals.

There is a "secret" range at my family cabin only locals know about. Goes to 350 yards and has a gong at the end. Fun range for sure. Wheeling and shooting and a place to sleep. Will have to get a trip up there.

 

Loving all this gun chit chat. Making me want to step into a local gun shop and throw down some cash on another firearm.

As stated no need to apologize. Glad I could help. Help isn't the word maybe enlighten you on the CCW process here in Kommiformia. I even thought about moving out of state due to the CA gun roster. I still might but not anytime soon.

 

Uber confusing.. its ridiculous. I've come to find that one out of every 2-3 people I ask about certain gun laws and liabilities has NO IDEA what they are even talking about and misinformation gets thrown around way too much... so now I just call the local PD or Sheriff's Department when I have a question or two. lol Before I moved to Marin County, I was in El Dorado County... and those folks were awesome about gun rights and CCW permits. Never failed to give me good information when I asked either. Can't wait to move back that way.

Actually, if we close successfully on the house, I'll have a lot more yard, and a lot of stuff I would like to change and master plan. I did this all myself two houses ago, but I won't have enough time and could use a consultant. For real. I'll have multiple native oaks, and want to do some compatible understory/screening (thinking coffee berry and larger ceanothus for starters), and other areas with copious grass mow strips on two sides that just need to go to hardy xeriscape. The back yard is a whole other story.

This is my old place immediately after planting, after having scraped every square inch clean with a bobcat and doing drainage, irrigation, grading and mounding, water supply, electrical to garage and patio.
