I feel like I should have changed the oil earlier. Not sure I'll wait to change it again until 10k.

This truck is driven pretty easy, averaging 22.3 mpg since new.

I think this is a great reading man. As far as I know it's completely normal to have some of those contaminants in your oil due to engine break in. As far as changing the oil sooner, I don't think you have anything to worry about.

I be read 100's of reports from industrial oil analysis and have never seen one with the results given in a personable manner. Kind of funny! A little weird that they would be kind of guessing at the viscosity. Normally they'd be given that number and they would report back the actual number. Congrats on the new truck- enjoy!!!

I'm still not worried that I changed at 10k, but at least you put your money where your mouth is. Bravo.

I always like to do my first oil change on my new vehicles at about 1000 miles or so.

I bet you couldn't explain one metric they gave you and how it relates to the interval of your oil change. Never mind the fact that this was the first oil change.

They (Blackstone) always personalize mine. I assumed they did everyones. I started sending them samples when I raced cars, and being a data nerd, can't stop.

I guess I'll let the dealer do the 10k & 20k changes, and stick to Toyotas schedule. I'm sure someone years from now will appreciate the care we take for these today.

Very cool. Didn't know this testing existed. How much does it run?

True. No chance the metals are part of the Babbitt bearings.

Cool, thanks. I just read his FAQs and I'm still laughing. Might do this for the wife's corolla.

That sucks, I think it was just $27 a few months back when I did the Car and Truck.

If I was to take my new truck in at 1000 miles and pay to do it would they?

Or would they hassle me into waiting till 5000

I am sure they would change it early if you want them to but they would just not cover the free one at 10,000 then.
