It has 10,000 change intervals so only 10K and 20K would be free under the free maintenance.

My sticker says first oil change at 5k, maybe I don't have synthetic

All 0W-20 is Synthetic, that tag is probably just your Dealer saying that, if you look in your Maintenance Book it will say 10K.

There is a maintenance at 5k, but I think they just rotate the tires and check/top off the fluids. Not sure, haven't made it to 5k yet.

I know what you mean. At work we send in oil samples to the Shell testing facilities those reports are written so cold and robotic.

Depends on the dealer. Some will do it at 5k others make you wait till 10k.
I wasn't risking getting turned down and
    did it myself at 4700.

They charged me $28 back in late February. Who knows...

To stay on topic here are my results.. similar to OP with the copper, iron and silicone levels through the roof. I also had mentioned that I found shavings in the filter housing but was assured that was normal.IMG_8722.PNG.jpg

Haven't gotten through all the manual yet, I'd have to keep it in my bathroom and it would still take months

I just don't want to run factory oil more than 3k and don't want to do it myself until the truck is more "worn"

That is totally up to you, everyone has a different opinion on the matter. That said as I mentioned above I plan on doing my first change around 1,000 or so, already have the Oil and Filter and I don't even have the Truck yet, lol.

I'd wait till your closer to 4k or 5k. Give some of the internals time to settle in a little more.

I doubt it matters. If I could go back, I'd do it around 1k, then go with the 10k interval.

You can never change your oil too frequently. But you can lighten your wallet. Whatever you want to do is fine. Im probably going to change out sub 1000 mi along with checking/change out diff fluid.

I just remembered I prepaid for 5 oil changes in 2015 and have 4 remaining. Going to cash in number 2 tomorrow! :D

I changed the oil and filter at 1500 miles, and I just changed it again at 5250 and swapped out the oil filter housing for the factory aluminum oil filter housing, and it not hard to do at all, and you can do it all very easily with the truck sitting in the ground.

When I changed the oil at 1500 miles it was still very clean looking, but the oil I just changed at 5250 was quite a bit darker, but did not have any visible metallic particles in the oil. When I change the oil again at 15k I'll then take a sample and send it in to Blackstone for analysis, and by that time the engine will have enough mikes on it that they should be able to start telling me what the oil change intervals can be going forward.

Yep, that's my plan. Did the first change at 1600 but didn't see any point in having an analysis done.

My intention is to try to pull a sample just before the included 10k service. That'll be another 4-5 months though.

When I did a Blackstone analysis at 8K on my funcar (15k OCI) it was in fine shape, so I have no qualms about a 10k OCI on modern motors & synthetic oil.

    Thanks for posting the analysis.

    I did mine at 1200-,

....Ill do it again at 5k,

let Toyota care do it for free at 10k,

I will do it again at 15k,

.. then let Toyota care do it at 20k for free again.....

It will be 5000 OCIs for me and this truck, I dont care what toyota or some written sentences in an owners manual say.

Using Amsoil 0W20 XL, and toyota oem filters.

That's nice. It's your money and time. Change it every 500 miles if it helps you sleep better at night.
