So what do you think the magical perfect height from the ground is for full use of annex?
I ask because I have an m1101 I'm gonna be putting a cvt on. So I'd like to make my rack the optimal height the 1st time.
    Mpg doesn't matter to me.
My only fear w height would be raking it on trees.

Call CVT. Ask them the height of the annex for the tent you are going to purchase. "Roof" TT's work best with the annex when mounted to the roof. If I remember correctly you'll need to be in that 72" range.

What would really be nice is a rack that would stow low and raise to annex height when deployed. I've seen someone on here do something like this.

This would be ideal. Yeah, not sure what I'm going to do about a rack yet.

That magical perfect height from the ground would probably be the magical height from the ground to the top of your head... plus a few inches.

I can't recall the exact height they recommend (and it may vary by manufacturer) but mine is at about 6' off the ground in the pic above and there is just a little slack in the walls. There are velcro strips on the inside so you can double up the walls and shorten them temporarily but again, if you can't walk in the annex its not completely useful IMO

I'm thinking 78" if the annex is long enough.
I may try a telescoping design but at this time that sounds like to much work.
There is a YouTube Merricks garage. Did one but he doesn't go into to much detail other then he used 100 lb gas cylinders.
But didn't go into much more detail.

Yup, hitch carrier for now. But, I just started an offroad teardrop trailer build so the bike can ride in the truck.

I have been talking with @Box Rocket about my defective Black Kukenam XL Ruggedized cover. The insertion pin at the beginning of the zipper broke off, preventing me from getting the zipper started. It was a PITA to get it going.... Within 2 business days, my Black Kukenam XL Ruggedized cover will be shipped to me free of charge under the warranty program. Tepui Customer and Warranty Services are Impeccable. Thank you so much @TepuiTents and @Box Rocket.

    Stuff. Also things.
I think it's pretty f'n cool that we have companies providing kick-ass customer service like CVT and Tepui, along with some up comers like GEOAdventure.

    Competitive markets, FTW.

Was planning to wait until the CVT GB in a couple weeks, but a member on here offered to pick up a tent for me when he got his, so I couldn't pass up the free shipping. I've got a Mt Shasta on it's way, so now I need to get the bars mounted to my topper. I picked up some yakima bars and towers from another member, but still need to get some tracks. Does anyone know of some used yakima tracks for sale? I'm hoping to pick them up pretty cheap. Also, for anyone that's done it, how is the install on a topper?

This is the closest detailed pic I have. There are two bolts per mount on each side so eight in total. I will measure the actual length of the bars today

Oh I see. Well I already have the yakima bars and towers, so I think I'll just pick up some tracks and go that route. Thanks for the info though!

I added Yakima tracks to a shell a few years ago, and I don't remember exactly what they cost. But I think it was only around $100-125 for the tracks with all the mounting hardware.
