Hey, sorry if a million posts exist of this already (have been researching for some time) but I am looking for a bit of advice. I found a local dealership that will do the OME or Bilstein 5100 3" lift kit installed for 2k which includes an AAL or they can do Dakar leafs for an extra $700 ( I live in Canada). I asked about UCA as there seems to be a lot of discussion on here about them and they advised I wouldn't need them as long as I am not off-roading all the time, they did however say a LCA seizure is common and that may need to be done. I would like to get new tires as well and was thinking somewhere in the range of 285/70/17-265/70/17.

Just looking for opinions as to if I will need an UCA for these tire sizes and just general opinions of which options people liked the most.

    Thanks!

    - ICON UCAs, BP51/Kings, SCS wheels, 285s, Leer 100XR canopy. Greenlane aluminum winch bumper, Smittybilt X20 winch. Trying Falken AT3w now, Really like BF KO2s.
I just did 5100s with Eibach coils (112-620), you get 1.6 inchs of lift, and Icon AAL and my tires 265 70 17 rub just a bit on my mudflaps. If I had aftermarket UCAs they could adjust them to allow for more caster and my tires wouldn't rub then. My caster is 1.8 at the moment and if you can get closer to 3 that helps a lot avoiding rubbing. The rims I have are -10 offset, 4.3 for backspacing.

The OME kit includes the following:

OME 885 front coils, as well as an add a leaf for the rear suspension to go along with OME 90000 and 60091 shocks. Trim packer included with kit.

With 885s you'll probably want new UCAs. And to correct the shop, UCAs aren't needed for offroading, they're needed to get your alignment back in spec after lifting your truck.

i have 5100 with 886 coils and Built Right uniball UCA's, No mud flaps. I rubbed/popped off the fender flare once offroad. Did the Cab mount chop, Trimmed the lower part of the fender flare at the bottom, Wheelers Super bumps with 3/8" spacer, and realigned to push the tires forward. now i have no clearance issues with 285/70/17s. I offroad frequently

What does the OP mean by LCA seizure? Is that the bolt to remove the shock mount from the LCA?

Planning on doing an install soon and this caught my eye.

The 2 main mount bushings typically seize that are attached to the alignment tabs, more so in the upper US region. On a 2015 you shouldn't have a problem.

Edit: to add, I changed my 2013 suspension 4 times with no issue and once on my 2014. Either way, auto parts store sell fill stock UCA's with bushings and ball joints installed at a pretty reasonable price

If you are getting 3" of lift why are they going with OME 885's, those are designed to get you around 1.5" of lift depending on your truck. Sounds like they are trying to preload up the spring, which is not really a great way of doing it. But maybe I'm missing something here?

For a full 3" I would assume you would want OME 888's, am I wrong on this?
