Icon Rebuild/ Change Dampening

I bought my Icons used this year, and after driving around with them and a few wheeling trips for a while I'm thinking about rebuilding them now. My question though is, would any of you happen to know how to change the orientation of the shim stack to get a more progressive dampening? Or is this something I should leave up to the pros?

 

Might want to call Icon or someone like Downsouth Motorsports that deals with alot of high end shocks. They could give you a definitive answer.

 

Icon is not doing in house repairs at the moment. I would suggest Downsouth as well. Im sending a set in to them soon as well.

 

I was just kind of hoping I'd be able to do this myself. Do you know what their lead time is?

 

Buy a rebuild kit.

You can DIY if you know what you are doing. Swap out or add shims (Replace any bent shims), replace seals / o-rings. add new shock oil. Check bearings and shafts for wear. Polish if necessary. It's pretty simple.


You can go way down the rabbit hole of valving with this program. I use it for my KTMs when rebuild forks / shocks.
