i've always had this issue since i was in my early teens. the hand has been pretty good lately, only had a few issues of the last few weeks but those were my fault for not taking it easy.

i did find something cool about it though. when it gets really bad (can't flex my hand), if i roll the tendon back and forth i get instant relief for 5 minutes but then it comes right back and i cant flex it again

 

It might work now, but wait 15 years...

Trust me... the body doesn't keep putting up with abuse year after year... I'm sure Dave will agree with me

I've been out of work for about 8 weeks now. My sleep pattern has returned to normal. ( I used to stay up overnight 2 times every 8 days). I've started working out again, but I sure have a long way to go there. I could easily lose 40 lbs. But the aches and pains of working 12 hour shifts are gone. My feet don't ache when I try to walk in the morning anymore, and I can walk down the stairs without hanging on to the handrail. My next job will definitely not be standing on concrete for long hours or doing heavy lifting. (I hope) There is good money to be made doing the hard jobs, no doubt, but they take their toll.

 

i'm looking at getting into something with a pension and benefits. we shall see though, i love what i do and hate to think about leaving it

 

You are a housebuilder correct? Is there a carpenters union you can join in Canada? It would help out with the pension and benefits, and maybe you could rise up through the ranks and get into something like job estimates or sales. Just a thought.

there is a union (i believe its the same as the u.s. but with a canadian division. ).

i just don't like unions, i dont agree with a lot of the bullshit they pull all the time

 

I'm not sure I like unions... being in the military, we didn't have them

Seems like they can be a good thing for the worker as long as the bosses don't get greedy
