    Hello All,

I am new to TacomaWorld, and I have been looking to buy a Tacoma. The exact truck I want is in the title but here it is again "2017 Tacoma TRD Off-Road DC with Long Bed and P&T Package with JBL". I live in California and after building the truck online I am showing a total of $40,160 (before taxes, lic fee, etc.) The $40,160 includes the MSRP of the configured truck and the delivery and processing crap. I was wondering if any of you have paid less? If so please let me know. I have gone to about 5 dealers, and they have all told me the price you see is the price you pay. Also, I was looking at the sr5/sport but it does not come with the electronically locking rear differential/crawl/terrain select. Should I just get the off road because it comes with an electronically locking rear differential/crawl/terrain select?

    Thanks

Are you going to actually use it? If you are going to be doing some pretty extreme off roading then yes, but if this is for dirt roads and hauling a dirt bike then no. Plus you can add a better locking diff to an SR5 for less if you so desire, crawl control and multi train are for the most part a gimmick. There is not much they can do that normal 4x4 can't and there is stuff normal 4x4 can do that crawl control can't. Tire play a bigger part than those electronic stuff...

My personal choice, a loaded SR5 (prefer the style) and add a locking diff if you need and will use it.

Tyler, thanks for the info. I would not say extreme but mudding, glamis/havasu, and dirt roads, yes. I would love the T&P packages which the SR5 does not come with. Because, blind spot monitoring is a must for when/if the wife drives it. Also, when I configure the Sport like the off road I desire the sport comes out more expensive. Also for the tires, I was thinking some ProComp Alloy wheels and the General Grabber AT2 or something of that sort. I am new to the truck scene so I don't know if those rims/tires are worth it. Nonetheless thanks for the info!

I have a truck like this. Sticker was $41.8. It has every option available to the OR Tacoma. It was a demo with a few thousand miles on it. I paid $35.8. Not sure what I could of gotten it for if it wasn't a demo. Im happy with what I paid since I was probably going to pay $35ish for a ORDC with tow package anyway. Im guessing if you got 10% off sticker your good.

I also have "this" truck, 17 but in sport(also running boards and trd air filter) paid 37.6 before tax in November .. with WA TTL it's was around 41, as long as you're happy that's all that matters, no one will drive the truck, but you/wife, opinion of others is invalid..

I just picked up the same truck with the SB last week. Most dealers in SoCal can't keep these on the lot for more than a week, so you are going to pay pretty close to MSRP. I picked mine up at Crown Toyota (Ontario) and have to say that they were pretty good.

The JBL is definitely worth the extra cost, unless you plan to upgrade the radio. My $0.02.

i have the same truck minus JBL. MSRP was around the same ~$40k. i got it for $37.2, after taxes and fees, $39K OTD. i don't do any extreme off-roading. just hunt, fish, and camping, so the OR package might even be a bit much for me, but i wanted an inferno in a DCLB and it just happen to be an OR. originally wanted the sport, but now that i think about it, i can live without the hood scoop.

From memory, MSRP was ~$41,600. There were a few extras(spare tire lock, predator step, clear bra, etc.) that I wasn't looking for, but it was the TRD Off-road 4x4 with the JBL Premium/Tech package. Before taxes and fees, we got it to ~$40,000.

I was dealing with three other dealers using the USAA car buying service. The best offer I received was $1k below MSRP. None of these three had the vehicle matching my request.

    Hope that helps!

I'm 5'10" and a grip handle wouldn't do me any good since I have to go head first to get into this tight door.

Congrats bro, you just bought yourself an awesome unicorn. TRDOR/DCLB with P&T & JBL is a rarity and even tougher to find in black which is what I have. I heard only 15% of all Tacos are DCLB and fewer w P&T+JBL. You're gonna be a happy owner for a long time to come like me. I had to order mine and waited almost two months for it. Just FYI I was also able to order mine from the factory with TRD Pro skid plate, cat-back exhaust and aluminum running boards.
    Happy for you dude!

Wait...looks like you got the short bed...still an awesome rig!
