The same shit everyone else has.
I was looking for something the other day and came across this picture.

I really like this idea vs drilling holes in the bed sides to add more D rings.

Granted these arent going to be as strong as a steel plate backed D ring, but this idea would be more than sufficient for things like a cargo net and strapping down plastic totes.

Is this a member on here or does someone recognize this mod? I was looking for some more info on this, specifically the size of the D rings used and where they were purchased?

    Cheers

yes, I have done the mods
I've done this mod, it's super easy. Unscrew the screw, slide the d-ring back there, re-screw the screw. I got my d-rings from army surplus warehouse, but they don't seem to have a listing for them anymore. Similar ones are out there.

But here's the monster thread you should read through:

Installed D-Rings in the Bed Pics

It's got a ton of different installs and sources for D-rings. The behind-the-rail rings I think first appeared here.

Are they mounting to anything solid, or just the composite bed?

They're mounted into the same piece the track is mounted into I'd imagine they'd hold close to the same weight the track can.

Would I strap a motorcycle to them? No

Would I strap a plastic tote with camping gear to them? Yes.

Seems reasonable. Might have to pick some up.

    How many did you install?

I plan on installing 1 at every bolt on the track, not sure how many that is yet as I need to count em to see.

They rattle a little FYI there may be a zip tie solution somewhere in the thread noted above. I shot mine with a little extra black paint to make them "sticky" when they swivel.

I did see his while searching

I'd do something similar, but probably with some sort of rubber or vinyl tubing

Be aware that if you choose to add these to the bed bolts it is a little more involved, and there is a dodge d ring that eliminates these issues.

    Tacoma don't own one yet
Any ideas or a link for where the Dodge d-rings can be found to install d-rings in the Tacoma bed bolts (the unpainted star drive bolts) without grinding away at the washers?
