    Awesome!!

Super stoked to see photos

Partial wraps...curious what that means..like 4-5''? Any reason for not full wraps?

I think were good for now but may take you up on that. I have an 01 were using for mock up etc. I will be looking for one of the oddball years 99-00 soon to fit check the front bumper mount option. The design intent is to have 2 separate mounting styled to accommodate the different frame horns on the 1st gens

Right now I'm thinking wrapping enough to provide additional protection ~6/8" or so, if we go full wrap that would require an additional support to the frame. To do so would require either going lower than the factory sheet metal or cutting. Were trying to avoid cutting. Still a bit up in the air

oh gotcha. Yea i can get that. Should be about to get it skinned and a support brace there and barely gave it below the bed side..Im struggling to find photos of mine to show the clearances...

Not trying to tell you how to do it of course  just feed some inspiration i hope :p But you can keep it pretty tight to the body with the side brace i guess is the point. Tighter then any tube sides. Can get more photos of the undersides of mine and Mikes rig if you want.

But i will say, i'll take the 1/2'' or less clearance to have the whole bed side covered and supported over having part of it exposed to rocks. Also would love it if no cutting was involved...

Either way...we are electric with excitement for what you come out with

It's cool you are reaching out to the mass's and taking input. That alone speaks volumes on the kind of place Pelfrey Built is. Can't wait to see the end product!

Why not just do a high clearance? Similar to the second gens.

    Pretty much that^^^

I'm sure there are a small number of guys that are happy to cut to gain as much clearance as possible but for the most part, the 1st gens are pretty high and tight already.
This seems to be the best route that I feel applies to the majority of consumers, based on feedback and my personal opinion.

Thanks for updating us and allowing hearing our opinions. With your front bumper, will you allow room/space for a winch? I was hoping for a high clearance rear bumper, mainly for aesthetics, since I dented my bedside the other day but I respect your feelings on the subject. I may turn my attention to CBI for their high clearance but I'm def interested in your front bumper.

The front bumper will come standard with winch mounting provisions, integrated 20" Led Bar mounts, fog lights and hoop options. There will be no turn signal options in an effort to keep it clean and tidy. the turn signals will be moved to corner marker lights.

The rear may still cover up your current damage, the top of the bumper will be a bit higher on the sides, it will follow the body along the same line as the bottom of the tail lights. Certainly cant go wrong with anything CBI though, if that fits you needs best by all means, that's the way to go. Great people up there with a solid product line.

Do you have an idea of what the measurements will be for the winch mount area? I'm looking to possibly add a plate bumper that I can fit and Intercooler inside of.

Just my 2 cents, while we are discussing "adapter plates" in the beginning of this thread.

I had to cut the front of my frame for my plate bumper from ELITE, however the stock mounts and even the core mounts ended up getting tweaked with minor wheeling hits on the bumper. My solution was custom core support mounts, and custom bumper mounting on a cross member I added, that could be later utilized for leaf hangers if I decided to go leafs instead of coil for the SAS. Would be cool to see a beefier mount system implemented I guess is all I am trying to say.

In other news, My elite because I cant let @Blackdawg \ Monte being the only one to swing his ELITE dick around . Mine at least has a real dick. Jus' saying.

I'd prefer not to have to cut my bedsides seeing that the rears are already "high-clearanced" just more work that I don't see necessary. I really like the fact that if I can't afford the swing out right away I can snag it down the road and not have to order a new bumper. If I were to go Bruteforce Fab I'd have to get the entire thing at once or make my own swing out. So pending the final bumper I'm already in for a rear.

From the stand point of the 98-00's I had to cut my frame 2" and weld plates up. This isn't tough if you have the tools and really want the bumper. Not to mention that the stock skid mounting location was perfectly set up correctly. I haven't found any problems with my bumper and anything to do with the mounting. So it may be easier to "copy" the other designs for the 98-00 mounting.

    Just some of my thoughts.

Is there a time table for release? I know not anytime soon but like Fall, Black Friday, Christmas? Just a rough estimate so I know when to not be buying other truck stuff ha

Its going to be tight, honestly I doubt the inter-cooler will find a home inside there along with a winch. Once the design is complete Ill be able to confirm for you a bit better.

With the rear I was also set on CBI for my previous truck (bed side was dented). On my current truck I'd rather not cut the bedsides unless I have to. So I'm really happy that you're leaning towards this design.

Thanks again for working with us/the consumers on both input and actually going through with providing another option for us 1st gen owners. Now my buddies with 2nd and 3rd gen tacos won't be the only ones rocking Pelfreybilt!

I'll continue to "hawk" this thread as well as your FB page for any updates. Don't be surprised if I just show up at your shop asking about them too.

Also, are we going to be able to choose the size of the center hoop (height/width) as well as add support braces to them? Really liked how my Shrockworks bumper came out when I asked them to add the support bars (pics for reference):

I appreciate your thoughts. I had almost forgot about how the factory skids mounted up front so Ill need to address that as well. Always easier at the design phase than an afterthought.
Im hoping the different frames will work out, my only issue currently is not having a 99-00 to take real data from.

Were getting close to cutting first articles in the coming month or so. Id say a "fall" release is a safe estimate. The new rear for the 5th gen 4runner is taking a lot of my time currently, its going to be the most amazing bumper we've ever produced but with that comes a lot of R&D. I'm also working on another platform currently that were not talking about, its just going to show up at an upcoming event as a surprise (not a Tacoma, sorry) those are the main reasons were not full bore with the 1st gen but its following closely behind.
