Does anyone think I'll have a problem with the paint debadging my 2013 MGM?

Im reading the responses above about everyone removing their Tacoma emblems and here I am looking to put the same parts on my red 17 Tacoma SR. I bought the base truck with painted bumpers figuring I would be cheap and dress it up and here you guys are dressing yours down. Im old school. Hell just old and like chrome I guess. Just put a TRD grill in mine and about ready to order Tacoma emblems soon. Polished aluminum wheels and bed rails are next. I like things that shine but enjoy seeing you guys fix up these trucks your own way.

It will probably be fresher looking than the surrounding paint but just take your time. A heat gun and fishing line are your friends

image.jpg I debadged and removed the TRD stickers the day I bought the truck. I don't like the chrome so I prefer the look without anything on the truck.

PO debadged mine, I like that it looks like a base model; keeps thieving eyes at bay.

Remove the 'Tacoma' on the doors at very minimum... Those do NOT belong there.

As for the rest, up to you on the rear badging. I removed all from the tailgate but left the TRD OR stickers on the sides. I think it looks a bit TOO empty with those stickers gone. Just get rid of the chrome, and it looks really clean.

I also debadged the wife's Camry and Highlander. They wouldn't be so tacky looking if the weren't chrome.

Provided you don't use chemicals to remove the adhesive like some people do. I think that gives you the greatest chance to screw up your paint. Go with heat and maybe some dial and hot water.

Even if your truck is parked outside in the sun all the time, doubt you would have any paint color differences in a 2013.

Thanks man! Just planned on using heat and fishing line, then clay bar/wax. Hopefully the weather is nice enough tomorrow to do it

I plan on removing all of mine aside from the TRD OR decal. Just been waiting for the time to do it. Use fishing line to remove them and then use turtle wax sticker and decal remover, spray and let sit for a few minutes. Then you can take a plastic spatula or something smooth, plastic and sharp and remove the thicker areas of the foam adhesive. After than clean everything up well and hit it with some Meg's Ultimate Compound to blend it in with the rest of the paint and remove the "ghosting" from the badge. I've used this process on countless vehicles and it works perfectly everytime.
