It's so much easier to pick up wine and liquor at the new state store than it is at the one right in the Borough!

Does the bar compensate you for constantly using your personal vehicle for their business?

I make plenty of money to pay for gas and then some if that's what you mean...

Nothing has ever happened to my truck while working at the bar, and I don't anticipate anything happening that my insurance company wouldn't cover.

That's not what I mean. You should be compensated for your vehicle use. Some small businesses may take advantage of a young and eager individual like yourself.

Still one of my biggest pet peeves!

After I got stopped by the cops for the high crime of public photography more than 4 years ago, I had quite a bit of anger towards the police. My attitude was "I'm not breaking any laws! Why don't you go and bust a real criminal instead of harassing and traumatizing someone who's innocent?" It still kind of is, but I've mellowed out a lot, and I realize the cops were just doing their jobs.

That said, I don't mind showing my driver's license in most situations, including:
-Buying age-restricted items like alcohol or tobacco (In this case I'm honestly flattered because I'm almost 30; This almost never comes up anymore unless I'm not in Doylestown because just about every bouncer and bartender knows me; The state liquor store no longer cards me when I'm picking up for work because they know me; I don't smoke but a lot of my coworkers do, I regularly make cigarette runs for them, and again, most people at the local Wawa know me and know I'm of age)

-Getting into a bar or strip club (See above)

-Boarding a commercial airplane (This is the only part of the TSA checkpoint that doesn't annoy me)

-Renting a car (Do I really need to say why this DOES NOT bother me? Come on, you want to rent a car, you need to prove that your legally able to drive one!)

-Any interactions with police (When you get pulled over and/or are involved in an accident, whether it's your fault or not, and a cop asks to "see your license," the situation in my opinion is entirely different than being stopped by the local police sergeant for practicing an innocent hobby while literally walking on a public sidewalk and being asked "Can I see some ID?" and then 3 more cops show up and take turns interrogating you for like 20-30 minutes. That type of situation infuriates me to no end! Photography is not a crime! However, I've never been pulled over, and the only times I've had to show my license to cops is when I've been involved in accidents that weren't my fault)

Situations where I want to tell people to kiss my ass (but bite my tongue and don't) if they want to see my ID:

-Using a credit card for everyday purchases or any purchases less than about $250 (Shopping for my parents and boss, any food-related purchase)

-Anytime when I'm using my own credit card that has a chip (I purchased a $700 camera at Best Buy and didn't get carded. A few days later I bought some new clothes a Kohl's at a cost of about $110 and the cashier carded me; My mom had given me her Kohl's Card to get a discount and the woman wouldn't accept it because it wasn't signed, so I wasn't happy; She then has the nerve to ask to see my license when I take my own credit card out; I've seriously never gotten carded since)

-Interactions with people who think they are the police but aren't (Like security guards who think you must be up to no good because they see you photographing a custom truck in the parking lot of your own community college, chase you in a 2-ton SUV like they just saw you selling heroin, and then demand to see your student ID just to piss you off; I actually used the F-bomb in the aforementioned situation)

Not long after I was stopped by police in 2013 (It may have been 2014), I went to a special education building to visit with one of the few teachers I actually like (still friends too). My former teacher and one of the other teachers knew I was coming. I pulled my Tacoma into the parking lot, parked, walked to the door, and pressed the buzzer by the door (which can't be opened from the outside). This rather large special ed student (not a staff member, but an intellectually disabled student who is younger than me; and wearing a yellowish orange reflective safety vest for some reason) comes to the door, opens it slightly, and asks "How may I help you?" I tell him who I am (first and last name), who I'm there to see, and that the person I'm seeing is expecting me. He gives me a skeptical look and asks to see my ID.

As if I'm really going to show my driver's license to an intellectually disabled teenager I've never met before...

Keep in mind I gave him my name...

I got pretty annoyed at this point, basically told him that he had no business looking at my license, and again said that I was there to see a specific teacher and they were expecting me. A huge argument ensues between me and this special ed student, and a female staff member (an actual staff member, though one I've never seen in my life) hears us and comes out of the classroom to investigate. I tell her who I am and who I'm there to see, and say again that I'm not going to show a stranger my driver's license. A second argument almost started, but the teacher/friend I was actually there to see finally appeared, recognized me, and told this woman who I was. They let me in, but not before this new staff member attempting to lecture me about security measures, and also that I was required to show my ID to this special ed kid, and that if I pulled what I'd pulled again I'd be asked to leave. I basically told her to go to hell (without actually saying it; though I know my body language sure did) and blew her off. My former teacher told me a few minutes later that she sided with me, but even though she thought the new security measures were stupid, I did have to obey them. Luckily, they moved out of that building and back to their old location, and not only have I never had a problem with gaining access to the building to visit my teacher, but I haven't seen the woman, who said I'd be barred from coming to visit, since that day.

With regards to the squeegee guys at gas stations (I posted about this in another thread https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/central-bucks-tacoma-owners.475957/)... The first encounter in particular kinda sketched me out...

I was filling up my Tacoma at the shell station on Easton Road in Doylestown Township, and all of a sudden this black guy wearing a denim jacket with the Shell logo on it comes out of nowhere (I guess he came from inside the store?), grabs the windshield squeegee, and approaches my truck...

He says "I'm just gonna clean your windshield." Something about this guy put me on edge, but he was wearing a Shell uniform so I gave him the benefit of the doubt...

The fact that he had to explain what he was doing even though it was quite obvious tells me that somebody who is more protective of their vehicle than I am of my Tacoma went nuts when he walked over and started washing their windshield without asking first, and I also probably had a "WTF" look in my eyes and on my face that I didn't know about too. I knew he wanted money, but he wasn't gonna get any. I just let him do his thing because he was wearing a Shell jacket...

I continued pumping gas, and then out of the blue he said "You have a nice camera."

I had my $700+ Nikon SLR camera in my Tacoma, either on the floor or on the passenger seat... People ask me about and compliment me on my camera all the time, but in those cases I had the damn thing around my neck or was holding it in my hand! In this case it was in my truck, not being used...

That immediately put me on edge, as I was thinking "What the fuck are you doing looking that closely into my truck, dude?"
I was friendly and answered his questions about the camera, but I just wanted to him to walk away, and I wanted to leave...

I left without incident, but what the hell?

I've been making these for the bar where I work ever Halloween since 2012! The Puck-O-Lantern! I carved all four of these in my parents' kitchen (pictures from October 2016):

I took this picture a couple weeks ago. The staff at "The Other Side" loves me so much that when I asked for a mere glass of ginger ale, one of the bartenders gave me this!

What type of ginger ale? I've been to places that think ginger ale is coke mixed with sprite.

So earlier this year, or possibly sometime last year, my dad stopped at a local Sunoco to get some gas. He was driving his Honda Pilot. He pulls up to a gas pump without thinking much of it, pops the fuel door, and gets put.

All of a sudden this guy, who my dad described as "a kid, younger than you" (meaning me), maybe 18 to 21 years old, gets out of his late model Silverado. He immediately gets very aggressive, tells my dad that "he saw the pump first" or some bullshit like that. Then he starts acting like he wants to throw down. Keep in mind dad is a combat-trained retired veteran with 25 years in the Navy, and he's coolheaded too.

My dad takes out his iPhone, remaining calm, and says something like "Is that so? How about I call the cops?" This punk walks back to his truck like the pussy bitch he is, gets in, fills up at another pump, and doesn't say another word to my dad.

Some people don't get ginger ale. Not all ginger ale is created equal. My personal preference is Canada Dry.

I'm friends on Facebook with the bartender who served me that pitcher of ginger ale, and he said he isn't 100% positive, but he's sure they have Canada Dry on tap.
