I think the 2TR belhouse bolts up to the 3RZ and allows you to run the R trans. I think the R154 is another 2WD trans from the MKIII Supra IIRC.

From what I remember, you may have to use the clutch that is original with the R trans. Not sure about the fly wheel. Lots of knowledge at Customtacos.com on this conversion.

 

Don't those clutch components swap between the 2RZ and 3RZ?

So learning my lesson is going to cost my build and extra $1000 got a new CXracing turbo coming and later I'll send the PTE 5431E out for rebuilding and I think I'll keep that one too just in case

get a supra shifter ecu. Make that thing fun actually.

 

I have a shift kit, what would the Supra tcu do? Does the truck A340E use a separate controller?

 

Perpetual problem, faced by many. Myself included. Invest in low quality, the market will thrive. Lines of "quality" get blurred. Investments, due to quality problems, are needed again. The cycle repeats with the next guy.

no no..not a supra product..per say. and i fucked up, call the supra stick.

Just the name.

Its basically a piggy back for your tranny. Can do manual shifts to a button for instance. Change the shift points and such. Stores two settings so you can leave one as fully auto and one as "manual" and use something to fire the shifts.

yeah i've seen that one. Its cool i too i suppose. I'd do the other one as it can be race truck mode...or cruise mode. Much nicer i think.

 

Yeah I guess that is nice to have a sort of eco mode, probably more drivable too.

 

well, with the kit you posted, you have to shift it all the time no matter what.

Not really a bad thing exactly..not any different then a true manual. but for me...at that point...just get a manual haha

 

I have a huge IC. The one from the CX kit. Hangs down if you mount it with the CX mounting profile; not compatible with rocks and shit if you plan to offroad.

Yes. Its been breading spiders in my garage for a year +. If you want to donate to my build I won't say no but I'm a few months away from just chucking it into the trash.

That clutch option is pretty cool. I think over the last year I skimmed every R series trans swap. Even the lexus guys are liking how cheap the r155s are to get.
Found a used R155 for $250 near me. Even if I mess up I made mistakes that cost more than this.

 

@MadTaco461 u plannin a trip to bama anytime soon? Gotta a motor and tranny waiting to be swapped in for u and all it needs is a coil pack and maybe a water pump and timing belt
