    OP these are HID's: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/hyluxtek-hid-kit-with-cnlight-ball-bulbs.457461/

after watching all the different threads it seems to me this one has the cleanest installs and the fewest complaints... in fact i don't think anyone in there is unhappy last i checked. i have this kit and the install is easy, the setup is clean and waterproof and runs off a relay with no taps to the fusebox, the color temp matches the LED driving lights, and all around throw and performance is spot on. the 35w at 4300k puts out more, actually way more, than my OE HID's on my VW R32. the HID's match up with the lenses very well and the throw is great. just putting it out there.

I've read too many threads on this topic here and elsewhere and this post sums it up pretty well. Modern LEDs are GREAT, just not great in a 3rd gen projector as a proper headlight.

I've got a set of Xenondepot 4300k Philips HIDs, if you need more light than these put out at night you're problem is not with your headlights.

reliably poor visibility, longer lasting dimness, low light demands on harness.

Maybe a dumb question but is the kit you suggested from Xenondepot just high beams? Do I need another kit for low beams? I cant get through to the company by phone

Not a dumb question, the low beams are h11, high beams are H9. If you get an H11(B) HID kit, that will work with your lows. IMO, don't worry about highs..the high beams in conjunction with the HID lows are plenty of light when you need it. I never have to use my highs because my lows are so good.

I did Piaa leds in both my low and high beam. I have had great luck with piaa over the years and if you look at one of their bulbs and voltage regulators that come with them, they are definitely a quality piece. They also match the oe rigid fogs perfect in color. I figured it will be the last set of headlight bulbs I will need to buy for this truck.

285/75r16 KO2's, Baja XL 80's on CBI ditch brackets, TRD intake, opticoat pro, clear bra running the bottom sides, morimoto LEDs, all white LEDs inside, mounted shovel and axe above wheel well in the bed, linex'd the bed...
LEDs are worth it. After you do the swap it's as reliable as stock but lasts longer. Just a bunch of bright light junkies on here opting for HIDs. I'm happy with my LEDs and when I need more light I turn on my bajadesigns XL 80s that put out 10,000 lumens each.

Not sure what kind of HID kits you've been buying that cost that much and fail that quick, but it's certainly not been my experience.

Does anyone have any experience with the brand "Luminous LED"?

My dealership is selling led kits for 20% off this month. (The kits they have are Luminous LED for $159.99)

THIS right here! Brighter does NOT equal Better. These projector housings are designed for a capsule that emits light at a 360 pattern to create the proper beam "cutoff". With the LED options, they do NOT emit light in the way a capsule does so you will lose a lot of the focused beam pattern and just emit more of a flood light. Sure, it looks brighter but you actually have less usable light in a focused area. HID would be closer to the Halogen minus the little igniter wire that can cause a slight shadow in the beam pattern but overall emits light as a Halogen capsule does. However, as others have stated, the aftermarket HID's are low quality and cost. I have seen so many threads around vibration and fitment issues etc. I think in general for trouble-free light you stick with stock bulbs.

didn't mean to start a sh#$ storm on this, lots of opinions mixed with some science. Originally I was just trying to match the look of the stock rigid fog lights, hate the yellow lighting on the halogens. Only live once, I will get both and try them out, post one thread for the LED Gizmo Geeks and one for the HID Science guys and then get wakamo'd by everyone. Still was very useful....by the way love the new toy

Piaa #17202. I sell them at my work, and have done quite a few sets with zero issues.
