A really good 921 reverse LED light bulb?

Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm looking for a bright as possible reverse light LED bulb. I've gone through two different sets and they're no good. The first was from The Retro Source and it didn't project the light much. Then I got some cheap Amazon ones and while they looked better in the housing (meaning reflected more) they still don't light much behind the truck.

If you know of a better bulb, please share!

Do you have any shots of the light those kick out at night? I mean looking out from your truck.

I had a previous generation of these that worked great. Broken tail light -> water killed one of them, but I just ordered this exact product as a replacement a few minutes ago.

 

Let us know, I've been curious about these. Almost pulled the trigger on some.

 

Not LED, 30w 12v halogen gy6.35 landscape lights at home depot or any hardware store. 6$, >2x the light of stock which outperforms most led 921s, zero hassle from cheaply made LED lights. reverse bulbs are on for such short periods of time they will outlast the truck.

 

Been running a set of those for several months and they've been great. Definitely have better rear visibility at night but I highly doubt they compare to rear flood lights.

I got them off Amazon. A Series Rigid Natural White High Output. I think they run about $160 for a pair and then about $30-$40 for the 30 degree mounts. But the are great lights and have good output.

 

I put this together in the 886 backup light mod bulb thread. You don't need to do any cutting if you get the GY6 style bulbs. I went with 894 bulbs before I knew about the GY6's. Put them on my Taco and wife's Lexus 4 yrs ago; have not replaced any and light output is great. Then installed them on daughter's Camry and Corolla; going on 3 years and not one has failed.
