If you install the lift using the stock struts and the lift is still 9" it will rule out the 5100s as the problem.

Is there a chance that the RC kit was installed incorrectly?

What size tires? How did you measure the 9" of lift?

    Did they install the spindles?

do me a favor. Measure the height of the spacer they provide, then measure the distance center to center of the Bolts that go through the original LCA bolt holes to the current LCA bolt position. I want to see how much the LCA mounting point has been lowered vs the amount of strut spacer they provided.

It looks like the strut spacer is LARGER than the actual DB lift which would easily make you get more lift than you wanted.

That's what I was thinking, but he said the spacer is 5"(not sure if it's supposed to be 5 and not 6?) but they don't make a larger kit than the 6" so I don't see why or how the spacer could be bigger.

so, if we take 3 in off of the 5 in spacer to account for everything moving down the same amount. we get a 2in spacer. which where the strut is placed on the lca make roughly double the lift amount. so 4 in + 3in = 7ish in of lift.... which makes sense. Not sure how your getting 9 unless you mis read the tape measure before hand

also..... lord, more stereotypical... of course its a HI truck.

when building the front struts, if you put the spring seat on upside down, it will preload the spring giving extra lift about 1" of extra lift... ask @Leo4x2

    "
Okay so I found what the issue was.......

The spring seat was on upside down. Therefore the springs were compressed as if the struts were set on the top notch. Saturday went back to LJ's and we compressed the springs, took them out, flipped the spring seats out and flipped them the other way, and assembled. NOW the truck looks more leveled to the back. Before they kept telling me that I needed a block in the rear or AAL to bring it up some and now we know why.

I haven't taken any pics yet but I will do that sometime today. The truck looks a lot more even all the way around now."

I had that thought as well. It looks like OP's spring seat is installed correctly though in the picture he posted.

I'm reading through this thread and it's indeed a giant mystery. Sub'd for outcome.

OP, how are you measuring your amount of lift? For the most accurate number, you want to measure center of hub to the fender.

1.75" Billy's plus 1/4 spacer on both sides. 1" block in rear. 265/70/17 nitto g2 SCS matte dark bronze 6s
This was my guess. Happens all the time with people installing 5100s at home.

Wouldn't a 5" spacer yield double that in lift...

Like when people have a 3" leveling kit the spacer is 1.5"

Edit: or am I a dum dum

I believe if it's an in-coil spacer, it yields double the lift. If it's top plate, it should yield its height. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
