I LOVE the cooled seats. I turn that sucker on every time I get in the truck. Keeps the sax nice and chill too.
    a5bs on front seat.jpg

Besides playing sax, I also fix up vintage saxes as a hobby / side job. Helps to pay for Taco mods. This is when I picked up an early 1950s King Super 20 alto, before spending 45 hours overhauling it:

    ^ the moneymaker

Definitely gets up and going. It's hard to get traction when trying to shoot a gap turning onto a busy street ... s/c problems amiright?

I average 16-17mpg, which is where I was with my half-as-fast '01. It's nice to surprise hot hatches and give them a run for their money at a stoplight.

Last night I chopped my mud flaps. I didn't want to leave them off since I actually like blocking rocks & mud, but they hang SO LOW. Pretty simple work with a jigsaw and sanding belt.

I'd suggest the A-Pillor Ram mount mod I found on TW instead of the CD slot mount for you phone. Truck looks great! I usually don't like black rims on a black vehicle but with the silver ring they look good

Any pics of your compressor set up?

Thanks man, I appreciate the tip. I just got the CD slot one last night so I'm not married to it. What's the benefit of the pillar mount? I like that this one is centered for nav purposes since Entune is useless compared to Google maps

A pillar works awesome but you could always to a tech deck and put a RAM mount there. You can find the tech deck in the FS section and there is a thread for the RAM A Pillar Mod. I did it and has worked great for me. Just need to get a smaller arm and put a USB power source on the driver side.

I just like how it's out of the way but still accessible and it's super sturdy when you go off-road. I don't have 1st hand experience with the CD mount ones but the A-Pillar mod is one of my favorite additions to the truck.

@Sleipnir I was thinking of getting a techdeck as well and using it for an iPad/iPad mini.

I just run a usb cable from my head unit to my phone mount over the top of the steering wheel (for charging purposes), haven't had any issues with that.

I havent gotten the Tech Deck yet but was thinking about it too. I do the same thing with the usb cord but gets annoying when trying to run the cord mid drive

You guys seem to think my left hand is somehow not worthless for anything requiring coordination ... just steering is already pushing it, having a phone over there may be downright hazardous for me :anonymous:

Got a bit sidetracked when I found a clean 1st gen for too good of a deal to pass up. Bought it last night.

It needs a little tlc but runs and drives beautifully. Frame is solid, spent most of its life in southern Utah.
