OK, I got the wires soldered to the switch. BTW I broke a 2 tabs getting the switch apart and I was being careful. I inserted the Molex pins into the factory connector. I am ready to connect the wires to the AC control harness. HOW do I get the AC harness out to work on it ? Scooter's step by step says to pull the cover to the right of the control but on mine it's an air bag switch and I don't want to mess with that. I don't see anything in the PDF about taking it out. It just says do it and connect the wires. Any help appreciated.

I put a little piece of duct tape on the plastic below it so the putty knife I use won't score the soft plastic. Should come right out. I had to work hard to strip the wires leaving it in place. I didn't think taking out the harness plug would gain me anything; it actually helps to hold the wires in place with the weight of the AC control panel...took some work but with a small sharp knife I stripped the green and green/white wires and attached the red and white as per the instructions. I had tried some splicers, but they were too big and didn't cut into the plastic cover on the wires. Go slow, stick with it and you shall be rewarded!

Holy chit, I've done a lot already!!
I am starting to think if you didn't have bad luck you wouldn't have any. I went searching for the switch on e-bay. If I can make one recommendation for ease of searching. Add Toyota, Tacoma, SR5, & 4wd in the title. Gonna make it easier for people that aren't from TW to find. Good luck and as always, good work!!

I got my switch but if I had to find it on ebay I'd be sh-t out of luck. I put Toyota, Tacoma, SR5, 4wd, 4X4 switch, Tacoma 4X4 switch light. Can't find it. Good luck having people that are not sure what they are looking for finding it.

x2 what these guys said. I found it very easy to use a butter knife to pry out the ac control switch panel. It actually came out very easy, almost like it wasn't snapped in at all. I left the cables all plugged in and just worked the wires while connected. A couple snips of the wires to be spliced, some well placed teeth to strip the wires, tie them back together and tape up, and voila! All done. Hardest thing was getting the wires to go through the hole leading from the 4x4 switch to the ac controls. All in all a very easy install. It's so cool to have the lit switch now. It's amazing the stupidity of Toyota to not do this by default.

Can we get pics of your color options in this thread while you work out the website issue? I found your stock red on ebay, but I am not sure that is what I want. And your price went up about ten bucks IIRC...that is way more than the ebay fee....????

He's already selling it way cheaper than you could get the switch from Toyota for. It's well worth the money IMO. Besides, he has a lot of his own money sunk into this project, I don't blame him for wanting to recoup some of it. Trust me, it's worth it.
If you look through the thread I've seen some of the red/blue combo colors and stock red colors. Those are the only two I remember seeing.
