Blend mount came in today and relocated the face up to that. The 9 foot included cable worked perfectly .

After using the panavise for a couple days I think I'm going to be very happy with the blend mount. The panavise places the head too low and you actually have to take your eyes off the road to read it

After moving it up to the blend mount I can easily see it in my peripheral. It also should move out of any glare (although havent noticed any yet) and hides it pretty good to from prying eyes.

Next step is to move the mic mount to one of the spare spots next to the usb

147.435 is terrible to listen to. just recordings played over and over and squeaky voices. It was fun to tune in back in the 90's, you could actually learn something interesting.

Used this one. Comes with a spare cat5 cable I didnt need. The 100dr comes with a 9ft separation cable. But ill keep it around for something else.

Mount is really solid. No movement when pushing buttons on the face.

WB7SXF here, getting back on the air this weekend. Lost my mag-mount a couple of years ago, got lazy, got busy...blah blah blah. Hoping w/a long weekend (I worked over the holiday) I can get a CB installed as well. Hoping to enjoy the Seattle chatter soon myself. What repeater(s) do you use?

I like it a lot. The bottom dial on the right is kind of obstructed by the steering wheel, but I always leave the bottom frequency on APRS, so it's not a big deal to me. Mount is solid when using the touch screen.

Anybody that's put a mobile in your 3rd gen, have you found that there is a lot of 2m rfi? I have my radio mounted under the seat with the head unit mounted near the dash. I haven't trimmed the feedline to match the radio location, but the scanning is basiclly useless, it's stopping at every frequency when the squelch is all the way up.

I have a Kenwood TH 710 and have no RFI. Directed connected to house battery, hood mounted dual band Larsen. I did ground hood and antenna mount.

I'm directly connected to the battery as well. I'm on an NMO on the roof. I've had great reports on the audio quality, but that damn RFI.

Do you get the RFI with the truck off or just when running? What radio are you running? This is a good link for T-shooting RFI and this one. Do you have any LED lights in the vehicle?
