    Hello all,

Over the Memorial Day weekend a tree fell on my 2013 TRD OR and forced me into truck buying mode. Ended up with a Quicksand TRD OR 2017 and so far really like the truck. I'd say at least to me, the 3rd Gen is pretty nice.

The only thing I didn't like is the dealer pre-installed the front license tag holder on the bumper. I don't like it so I removed it but there are 2 ugly holes in the center of the black trim piece on the front bumper. Does anybody have the part # for that black plastic cover/cap on the very nose of the front bumper? Any ideas on how much that piece cost $?

    Thanks for any insight!

Congrats on the new truck! Did you ask the dealer to get you a new one since they installed it without asking?

Depending on the state, it could be against the law for them not to.

Since that is the case here, I just drilled out the holes so they were smooth and round and used some black trim panel holder things. You can't tell too much and it looks a lot better without the license plate crap. Technically I could get a ticket for it but I have never been hassled.

In The Peoples Republic of California a front plate is mandatory and it you live somewhere where they issue parking tickets you will get a bonus for no front plate. with that said they certainly could have come up with something more elgant that monstrosity they stuck on there. I am planning to swap mine out for something like this...

Thank you all for the replies. I have not inquired about the dealership swapping out one that hasn't been drilled. I'd probably get the run around anyway. Mine is the black non-painted version and I figured it couldn't be that expensive but considering what they want for a grill insert, I'm probably wrong.

I just finally got around to doing this on mine. There are definitely cheaper options out there (like doing it yourself), but these guys use all the dealer paint codes to color-match, so I ordered a pair from them.

Not an expensive part. And super easy to replace. YouTube Tacoma bumper replacement. When you see it, I just used snips to cut the old clips to remove the blue clips since I was tossing the bumper balance anyway. Good luck.
