3rd Gen Low Mount/No Drill License Plate Bracket-$50 Shipped in the United States***If this thread is still up then these brackets are still being made!!!!

Unfortunately after 6 years at the same price I have had to raise the price due to increases in material and shipping costs.

To order, please start a conversation by opening your inbox in the upper right corner of this page and select start a conversation then enter my Tacoma World name, ACEkraut, let me know which bracket you would like and hit send.

If you are like me and do not want to put holes in your bumper or you want a plate bracket that you can install and remove when you need to then this bracket will fill that need. Or if you just prefer the aesthetics of a lower plate mounting location without the stock bulkier bracket this bracket will take care of that as well.

Each bracket is made from 1/8" thick aluminum flat bar that is 1.5 inches wide. I cut and bend the pieces myself to a pattern I have made. Stainless steel hardware is included. Instructions are included. Assembly is easy and straightforward and installation should take from 5-10 minutes and uses simple tools. The license plate bolts are attached using a hex bit making it more difficult for someone dishonest to remove. The bracket attaches easily by temporarily removing two bumper cover bolts, inserting the assembled bracket then reinserting the bumper cover bolts. The brackets are sold in bare aluminum and painting is left up to the customer. I do recommend that a little anti-seize or grease is used lightly where the stainless steel meets the aluminum. With dissimilar metals you can get some slight corrosion over time.

    Model LM-3GEN
This bracket is for model years 2016 + with stock bumper and it will work with the factory accessory skid plate.

Since all the parts are either aluminum or stainless steel they will never rust. I personally added some felt pads to mine to act as a cushion to the bumper in case of a light tap to the plate. You may want to paint the bracket as the 3rd Generation Tacomas have such a long, protruding front bumper that if you do bend down a bit the bracket can be seen. The brackets are sold in bare aluminum and painting is left up to the customer.

Please start a conversation if you have any questions or if you are interested in ordering. I will send along payment instructions in the conversation.

My thanks to @bcrobbin for taking the time and effort to bring his Tacoma to my house and let me design and fabricate a 3rd Generation bracket as well as taking and sending me the pictures above. He saved me from having to buy a new truck! I also want to thank the TW community for all their support selling these brackets. I have met a bunch of really great people. Your support allows me to afford my own various mods to my own Tacoma!

If you have a 3rd Gen Tacoma that already has the big, ugly bracket on the front and you would like to replace it with a much better looking, slim bracket, check out this thread:

Bump for a great guy and top notch No Drill plate bracket. It feels very solid and is well made with a low profile design. If you run a front plate, required or vanity, this is the perfect option to not drill in your bumper or just to have a more sleek profile over the stock mount.

I went with flat black from a rattle can and it blends pretty well with the black plastic OR bumper. I already had some foam so I went overkill and taped off the entire length of the bracket.

Putting it together and test fitting before I painted it.

Bump for an awesome product that requires no drilling. I finally mounted it on my TRD Pro yesterday and it looks amazing. No problems mounting it with the TRD Pro skid plate. I was able to use a gear wrench and install the bracket so removing the skid plate wasn't necessary. Thanks for an awesome product @ACEkraut

I have taken mine through the car wash about a dozen times already. My only issue I have had is when I decided to drive in and up a snow bank. Had to back out and the next day noticed my plate was bent, but the bracket was fine. Bent the plate back and she is all set.

I go through a touch less car wash so I have no direct experience with a car wash with brushes. I can ask others if they have any experience. The mount is quite stout and does not stick out much at all so I would think it would hold up.

As for if it will fit with an aftermarket bumper I would have to see the bumper to get an idea if it would but I would doubt it would work. This design has been tailored to fit the stock 3rd Gen truck specifically so I don't think it would fit an after market bumper. No harm in looking at a picture.

Well, I am finally "legal" in Texas with my front plate mounted. Thank you, ACE! Had been driving for a year without a front plate and thought I'd probably skirted the law just about long enough.

Even though it's not needed, I rattle-canned my plate mounts with primer and then black paint so it would match my truck. Mounted super quickly. And, unlike other third-party no-drill offers, ACE's mount puts the plate right where it SHOULD be, minus the drill holes.

I did not add pics because every one of the pics above shows placement.

Just cut up some flat bar today to make more brackets. And just bought a drill press last week so the countersink holes are looking really nice!
