First, let me just mention that I was making the shackle flip before I owned a Tacoma.
I also needed to experience the stock truck for a bit, so I can speak from experience with modifications.
So I just installed the Archive shackle flip with my stock 3+1 springs (which were new from Toyota along with the frame before I bought it only 1,000 miles) because I wanted to see how it worked with stock springs before I switched to the Deaver SUA.

An unexpected result happened. The lift was close to 2" (4" shackle and brackets in foremost position).
I noticed that after, the stock springs have some POSITIVE arch with the flip. With stock hanger, they were definitely negative arch.
As for flex, it seams pretty good. In the pics, there was still 2" left on the shock travel.

3/8"-16 thread x 3.5" long button head with c-nut. Nice and low profile with no edges to catch. Now I need to find some thin aluminum to stick on the gas tank..

Nice job, and the tank plate is a good idea, should be able to RTV a thin piece of alum or stainless right on the plactic tank

So would you recommend this setup (i.e. your shackle flip with stock springs) for others, or was it more just to test it out?

I would recommend it for those staying with stock springs, there are probably a couple dozen owners with this shackle flip and stock or stock +AAL and no complaints.
Just know that you will get about 2" lift

I'm running the shackle flip on Stock TSB springs w/ Icon ext shocks, definitely no complaints and am happy with the ride. It actually worked out good (for now, i want to replace springs and longer shocks for more flex) because the springs max out just before the shocks do.

Just got back from 5 days in Ouray and Moab. As far as i could see, i did not hit the gas tank with the new low profile bolt in the Dakars.

We did damn near every trail/pass in Ouray minus the switchbacks on Black Bear Pass which was closed for snow. Only spent a night and morning in Moab and hit up Hell's Revenge. Most of the trail was done with little effort in 4 low, until we neared the end. Then we got a nice slap in the face. A wrong line on one of the descending features nearly cost my buddy his truck and another buddy's rear bumpers/bedside. Thankfully i went last and we figured out the line and i came down with no issue. It was at that moment, I realized I am more of a fast paced Baja guy. There's nothing like letting the supercharger do its thing in 4WD and crushing desert access roads at 70mph.

Either way, shackle flip did its job and i never had a tire leave the ground (besides air time) in over 100 miles of dirt/rock.

I believe they will, but you will still need to move the front mounting locations as the spring is longer.

Yes, these work but you'd need to slide the brackets rearward about 3", and front hangers would have to go about 4" forward.
I have 1/8" thick 2"OD stainless washers to make 3" wide between the shackles for the Cheby bushings

@Gavin Goodfellow has this flip on his #whitedelight solid front axle/ 63" rear springs Tacoma https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/white-delight-solid-axle-swap.457250/

Hogan, I appreciate the report, sounds like a fun trip. How did the rear setup with shackle flip work for faster paced offroad stuff?

Trip was a blast, though we could have spread out the driving over an extra day or two... Too many beers and awesome views make for long days behind the wheel. Shackle flip works great for going fast too. I can truly get the full compression of the Dakar spring pack all the way down to the last overload so it has travel for days (about 5.5" up travel with extended 5100's).

I've read pretty much this whole thread and have learned a lot about a shackle flip and what it entails. I have a high clearance rear bumper coming in a couple weeks so it will be the perfect time to do this. My only question is what kind of longer shocks is everyone running? Right now I just have OME nitrocharger rear shocks and 100% sure they'll be max out easily after the flip. Does anyone have any recommendations? I need that droop badly! Thanks guys! Also awesome product and craftsmanship @ARCHIVE very impressed and excited to get your work installed! The attention to detail and listening to your buyers (especially picky Dakar owners) :p made me choose your's easily over the competition.

To fully take advantage of the flip you may also be interested in the archive shock relocate kit also. It will allow you to run a longer shock to maximize your up and down travel. I'm running a 14" bilstein (not sure of model)shock out back, not sure of exact collapsed/extended measurements, but triangulated. I'm not sure of the collapsed length, but I am running the timbren super bumps. I am not using the stock mounting location for the rear shocks.

I'm also running dakars, but I have yet to do the alternative mount to lessen the static angle of the shackle at rest. I really should but my truck is currently my DD so the relocation will have to wait until it's on my terms. I'll probably lose ~.1/2" of lift in the rear post shackle mount adjustment for the dakars. Loss of lift isn't a big concern as I netted 1"+ on top of the 2.75 advertised by one when I installed the shackle flip, so I could stand to lose a 1/2" via the shackle vs removing a leaf from.my dakars.

In this pic you can see the stock shock on the right still attached in the factory location. I used it as a max droop point, even tho the shocks I have installed are longer and capable of more down travel, the dakars and the possibility of shackle inversion limit my max down travel along with the opposite wheel hitting the bump stops.

I run the extended Bilstein 5100. Part number ends in B110. Its an 10.9" travel shock. 16.3" collapsed and 27.2" extended. For the price, you can't beat it. EDIT: I posted a few pics of flex in the past few pages. Still have room to stretch.

Tell me more about how you have your rear triangled shock set up installed, all custom or was it a kit? How's it working for you and ride in the street? I like it in concept!
