You think the bugs and issues will be out of them by then?

What bugs and issues? I don't have any.
Recalls? Think there is always a chance of this, regardless of model year.

If the bugs are going to be worked out they should already be in the newest 17's? If you wait, might get a deal on 17 when 18 comes out soon. But if you can wait, get the 18. I would, you would have newest version anyway. Just my thoughts.

my '17 has been spot on, no TSB's, no recalls, no issues at all, delivered Dec'16, almost 11k on the clock. you have been watching said bugs getting worked out right here on the forum. just be sure to get a late model '17 and don't take the budget route for a '16 on the lot... that's where you take the risk.

Only issue I have with mine is the Howling Rear, if they ever get that fixed they will make a lot of Taco Owners happy! Sounds like you should be good to go with either a 17 or an 18.

The 18s are almost here just wait. Its not like you are going to save anything on a 17. Plus the 18s will have TSS.

Only a couple more months, if you can wait then you can see if they really are adding the safety sense stuff. Either way, you can get the 2018, or make a better deal on a leftover 2017.

If you order now you've got a strong chance of getting an '18. I ordered a truck the second week of June and estimated deliver is September - October

I also here that the 18 will have more safety features if that interests you. Don't quote me on that. I just read it here somewhere.

I believe the new safety stuff will include "smart cruise control" and automatic braking...and I would imagine that will come with a $ bump and it's own bugs that need to be worked out.

So, looks like the 2020 Tacoma would be the best bet huh?

I have a 17' with zero issues. Hauled alot of stuff with it already, construction equipment, almost 400lb refrigerator. No towing yet, but it's darn good truck.

I've had few issues with my 17. All fixable and done. I really enjoy this truck.

I'll just wait 2 weeks and respond to the next thread you start asking if you should buy a '17. This is like the 3rd one since early May.

I'll say this: I bought a 2006 Tacoma. It was the second year of a new model production and had the new 4.0 V6. When I traded it in with 165,000 miles, the truck had zero mechanical isssues and I felt confident it would roll another 150k.

Now I own a 2017 Tacoma. It's the second year of new model production and has a new 3.5 V6. I feel confident it will outperform the 2006 I owned.

Mine is about as new as they get (06/17), and if you're talking about the truck's attempt to hit high gear asap, and the bog/delay when you press the gas.. no, it hasn't changed.
