Just bought my first Tacoma this weekend. 2017 SR5 4x4. I really want to get some all terrains for it. Any recommendations? Thinking about leveling it out, or maybe a lift...trying not to break my budget.

I put Goodyear Duratrac's on my '17 Taco. Truck is 90% on highway and tires behave well there as well as in the dirt.
Not loud at all on highway, and aggressive enough for getting me up (and down) some intermediate grades.
Just had my Taco (4x2) up on some slightly rutted, uphill roads with softball size rocks - and the tires did great.
Slipped a few times, then the locker kicked in and off I went. LT275 R17. Goodyear has them on sale often, and Costco has them too.
    Good luck!

I have had both Goodyear Duratrac's and BF Goodrich A/T KO2's. During both sets, did very little Off Road Parks, but long off road expiditions. Duratracc's were softer but both did well off road and on. The KO 2's have lasted longer and I get "E - rated" tires as I need to have better heavy load and rock protection.

Tires I have found, are lots like picking out a computer or camera, you will get many opinions, and ratings based on a number of compromises. I also had to get offset rims as I stepped up in size and needed clearance on the inside for the front tires..

Congratulations on your new truck, looks very very nice sharp.

This question has never ever been asked with so little info, so I will give the standard go to response. Get BFG KO2's, they are the coolest looking tire! They last the longest, are quieter than stock and you will get better MPG, they also perform the best offroad compared to anytire in any category. Also they never ever hydroplane... Sure they are a little, err a ton more expensive than any other AT tire that out performs it, but pulling in to the parking lot with a set of KO2's on will make you the talk of the starbucks and assert dominance in the neighborhood over other lesser males if you leave your truck parked in the driveway...

While I have only limited experience so far with the KO2's (came on my new truck when I purchased it, and they do seem improved), the previous KO's were totally and completely garbage, despite folks on here going rabid over them. BFG makes average tires for a ridiculously astronomical cost. There are way better manufacturers that make better (more traction, better lifespan) tires at a better price point.

    Cooper Discoverer A/T3
Goodyear Wrangler Authority (or Duratrac, not as big of a fan though)
    Hercules Terra Trac T/G Max
    Falken Wildpeak AT3W
    Firestone Destination A/T
    Hankook Dynapro
    Yokohama Geolandar A/T

The first three that I mentioned are US made by US owned companies, if that's a deciding factor.
