I've been reading about S/C's and REALLY want to get one, I see some people love them but when I ask other shops about them they say stay away and that they have problems...
I've heard the good... but who's had BAD experiences??
I'm looking at the complete Magnuson kit, but am also open to other suggestions based on experiences

    Thanks for any help
and I hope this hasn't been done to death and I just haven't looked hard enough

Honestly I haven't seen any people having problems with the trd flash. I have seen issues with the bullydog tuner making some people's trucks run lean in boost. One thing to look out for though is your stock clutch will most likely not be able to handle the additional power, Urd sells upgraded clutches for that though.

I haven't heard any issues with the supercharger itself. Might want to give Gadget a call at urdusa.com and get his thoughts.
    A warning though, it's a rabbit hole!

Check out the group buy that's been closed. Pages of people that have put it on and either love it or had horror stories with the bullydog messing with their truck and they end up selling the truck. Buy it. Use trd flash. Have fun boosting

The trd flash is fine, and cheap.

Yes, but if you live in a state that follows carb, you need to get the bullydog to get a carb sticker. That's what I did, just don't plug the bullydog into the truck!

Very nice! You will love it! Are you going to do the install itself? I got a pulley but am waiting to get a fuel pump to install it. My advice would be to get one but to wait until after you put the supercharger on. Get a feel for it first before you go slapping more boost into it, because you're gonna always want more

Youll love the sc. Get the trd flash as others have said, or go with ucon. If you go with a smaller pulley, i have heard that a larger fuel pump is recommended.

I have had no problems with Magnuson's tune (the one that comes on the Bullydog). Since you have a MT I would suggest going with Magnuson's tune. I've looked up people's TRD tune dyno curves from past installations, and they're very similar.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/1gr-fe-f-i-mods-and-dynos.465243/page-3

Reference my dyno run (Post 59) shows my AFRs are pretty darn good/safe.

Maybe it's just me but I ordered the URD fuel pump upgrade at the same time I got the trd supercharger. It just made since to me and I'm glad I did. If you want to really hear the whine and get a bump in hp and better throttle response get the afe stage 2 cai pro dry intake. I was pleasantly surprised with that upgrade. After that I got the 2.85 stealth pulley and that is how the supercharger should be out of the box. With the trd reflash I'm still pig rich. Now I'm waiting on the ucon and URD spec u long tubes to get to my doorstep. It's a hole. Enjoy. It just gets deeper.

haha yes i know it gets deep... Im going to start with the s/c and exhaust, drive it and feel it out... depending on the noise next Id do the intake, drive it a while then maybe the pulley and the pump together... I know I will always want more so I dont want to do it all at once and be left wanting more... haha
