That was what I figured, have seen a lot of guys talk about that but it seems to be doing fine now. The only thing it's doing is the taillights are flashing with the left turn signal still but they're led tails

What land cruiser got the 5vz? 5vz is lacking the torque to pull around that much weight all the time.

Maybe I'm getting old or have low T, but I'm half tempted to sell mine and buy a Toyota iM. I'm sure this will pass

I did a few things today:

    1. Swapped a broken vanity light with one from an '01 Tundra: (Tundra is the brown one that doesn't match) :)

    IMG_20170707_135231143.jpg

    2. Replaced my Fuel filter (biggest mechanical feat I have ever attempted, It took me several hours and I'm very proud of myself.) 2.7-pain in the ass to remove. I think I learned some new yoga positions. IMG_20170708_133649576_HDR.jpgIMG_20170708_133710413_HDR.jpg

Special thanks to Moco (don't know how to tag members) for the writeup on this! I didn't remove the wheel (didn't have the proper lug nut thingy with enough leverage) but overall followed his advice.

    3. I found the source of a rattling noise that would occur when I started my car and it got louder when I would reverse backing out of my drivewayIMG_20170708_144945037_HDR.jpg
    IMG_20170708_145409391_HDR.jpg

The back end of the guard covering the catalytic converter had rusted through and the two halves were rattling and grinding together. So I just cut it out! My exhaust system is the only rusty part of my frame (thank goodness) but it will probably need replacing soon.

I also cut open the filter to see how dirty it was:
    IMG_20170708_160814010_HDR.jpg
It was the original filter, 17 years old and 205K miles. I've seen dirtier fuel filters.

The wife, kid and I got home from a road trip and when we got out of the car he imediatly pointed at the truck and said "Go!" He is 1.5 yrs old and that's his way of saying he wants to go for a ride. The wife set him down and he ran over to the truck all excited. Even though I was tired of driving, how can I say no to that? Which brings me to what I did to my 1st Gen today... I took my son for a ride in it because it is his favorite. ...Ive taught him well...

This is from a super old post but what wheel and tire size are you running here? It looks fantastic.

    Sliders fell off...14995684756321412452478.jpg
Also I clearly bent one in the rollover, but it's minor enough to not fix

I was super low when I had the 35s on, loved the look! This is still my favorite picture from that setup because the tires look so huge!
    IMG_1263.jpg

That combo is long gone now though, here's a pic from Thursday on the Rubicon. 37s and Trail Ready beadlocks.

It looks epic. I'm just on Billies and armor now but thinking of going scs sr8s with this set up. How much cutting did you have to do with the Icon 3 inch and uca? Was it a lot of rubbing?

New set up with the sas is pretty awesome btw.

Fitting 35s requires tubing..aka...cutting the firewall back a lot and welding in now sheet metal. It also requires regearing if you ever want to use the truck nicely again.

Its a 3000 dollar mod easily to do it right.

Oh ya, it rubbed a lot. Look how close the fender is to the tire. Monte is right I did have to tub. Although now I wish I had never done that because the front is so far forward now from the SAS its not even close to the firewall hahaha.

Haha duly notes guys. I'll stick to 33s, I just didn't want to regret it.

Any opinions on whether I should get the 16s or 17s? I'm pretty sure Vince said all of their 16+ wheels fit the 13wl brakes.

Did not get as far as I wanted to today with engine and tranny swapping, but need physical help with some of it so I'll have to rope some friends in with pizza and beer.

Sold the transmission and got my money back. Motor came out to be rebuilt completely. Spent the day polishing the paint, removing the decals and tinting the windows. For 300$ I got a solid good looking truck. Next is emissions and a lift kit
