Yeah gotta rethink them that's for sure. Aren't beefy enough either. Might just have to make something custom

I went and got some electric conduit claps and cut my bolts down so that all the hardware was above the bars. That way my military cases slide in and out without catching on anything.

But wasn't beefy enough and they started to tear and come loose allowing my tent to slide three times this last week. So back to the drawing board!

Enjoyed this! About to make the swap myself. Very interesting about the MC size.

Yeah i did a whole post on this in here haha

The large MC and booster gives a very soft feel to the pedal due to the larger MC pushing more volume. The smaller MC does higher pressure which i like much better.

Hell if i could get a single diaphram booster and 13/16ths MC for Frankenstein id swap it.

Oh, you're talking about the break booster. I was about to say, after my tundra swap with steel lines, brake pedal feel has been amazing. I need to get a manual proportioning valve though as I still lock up the front wheels way early despite the lift bracket (proportioning valve probably bad? :notsure:)

Monte and I were talking about this when I did the swap. Mine are a little softer which makes sense since I have the bigger MC so I'd have to swap to a 01-04 MC. When this isn't a DD anymore I'll go ahead and do it but for now it's fine as I've gotten used to it now

    right!

Thats the thing. You can search and see people say just want you did that its amazing, or that is soft.

The people that say its soft feeling have 95-00 tacos which come with a dual diaphragm booster and 1'' MC vs the single diaphragm boost and 13/16'' MC 01-04s come with. Thus the difference in performance which lead to the split "opinion" on the modification. When really it was just what their truck had that was different.

My manual valve doesn't seem to change much..i need to re bleed my brakes though as it is. But my fronts lock up well before the rears and I much perfer the rears being able to lock up first. Helps when you're hauling ass downhill on gravel. Keeps the ass from swing out on you under heavy braking(have had this happen, can be a wake up call! lol)

just remember you have to swap the Booster with the spacer too. The 01-04 MC is a 2 bolt flange and only bolts to the single diaphragm booster. Which is shallower and needs the spacer to line up with your hard lines.

Other wise pretty much direct swap. The brake pedal assemble is different but you can mod it like i did to work or just get the right brake pedal too.

This is why I haven't done it, I have no clue about it and don't want to order parts and have them sit around like a few of my other parts  when the time comes I'll dig around some

I just noticed in your write-up that you drilled an extra hole in the brake pedal to line it up with the clevis on the booster. I didn't have to do that, I wonder if it changed your pedal ratio enough to cause the softer feeling.

I finally went back to the single diaphragm and 13/16 MC, it's a little better than the t100 setup but nothing crazy. Would still like better brakes...

mine didn't line up at all. Thus the new hole.

    But that is possible.

I mean if i pumped it it would get hard(duh) but it was no where near like how it is now. Way better with the 13/16s

I'm about to add in a manual proportion in valve, see if I can get a little better performance out of the rear.

Thanks. Have you had a chance to mess around with yours and dial it in? I am probably going to try to get all four wheels to lock up at the same rate unloaded.

Ive played with it a tad. Don't seem to notice a difference when i dial it up or down.
