April 20th, I finished up the wiring and mounting of the switch pro to the tacomapros mount in the engine bay. Up next will be the switch plate mount in the cab.

I got the awesome new tune by @OVTune written and took my DCLB out on a quick test drive. My initial impressions are real solid! Truck feels more responsive and "peppy". At highway speeds, passing and accelerating are greatly enhanced and cruise control is usable now without it shifting into 4th on slight inclines. It was the first time I've been in 6th in ages actually. During city driving, the off the line performance hasnt changed too much, but the responsiveness of the throttle is definitely felt. Once the rpms spin up a little, the truck feels a lot less labored and is more effortless accelerating.

I have some added weight with steel skids/sliders and other stuff and the change is definitely noticeable. I am going to be putting more miles on the truck this week since I am going into the office the next 2 days. My steel hc rear bumper is going in saturday and so this could not have come at a better time.

I need to drive the truck more to get a feel for how the 1.01 tune has changed it

Have you been tracking your mpgs? Curious to know how the tune affects them.

 

I will be for sure. Im still on the first tank of the tune so more time is needed. I did notice mpgs going up with the addition of the shiftsense pro shift controller as long as i stayed below 75. With this, below 75 I was seeing tank averages from 15.5 to 17.5 mpgs. Ill be tracking my mileage per tank per tune since they are still alpha tunes and need more tuning.

 

70-75 mph seems to be the sweet spot anyway. I've noticed my mpgs drop if I go much faster than that.

 

A tailwind is a nice thing and I super welcome them. The tune adds some power at the top end and so passing and accelerating is much more effortless. Truck feels a bit "lighter" overall. I'll be testing with the rack and RTT soon, that's gonna be the real test, fully loaded for a trip. More info soon after a few tanks for the ECU to change trims and what not since I'm using higher octane fuel now

 

Ray10's are arriving on MONDAY!!!! OMG! I hope I can get them mounted and all for my upcoming trip on 7/28

How much was that ads setup if you don't mind me asking. Still undecided on what to get. I rub on the streets with my 265/70-17. Leaning towards 6112/5125 with Tc uca.

Need to take my taco to inks lake asap.
