    Or this

Its just a rain gutter tube, you can re-route to any location.

Another idea is to reroute into the cabin... Not sure how I feel about that though. I think the most protected place would be a hood scoop. Also thought about going back to a regular hood so you could use any hood scoop, rather than modding the sport hood.

It's all academic at this point anyway, that's a long ways off for me.

I was trying to find a video of a dude that routed it into the cab. This is a terrible idea. You would have to drive with a window down year round. Also intake noise is extremely loud in a confined space.

I'd been told there was a thread on here about it. My google-fu did not work though.

In case you needed more reasons why a hood scoop snorkel is a bad idea:

Personally, I've had A LOT of water come over my hood on several occasions while going through big puddles. It wasn't enough water that my stock intake location took in water, but if my engine was breathing through the hood scoop, it would have definitely gotten a mouthful of water.

Are you talking this style of going through puddles?

You do know the hood is higher than the fender well?

I've had water come over my hood on paved roads twice in recent years.

Once was a clogged drain. The other was a flood, I did a 3 point turn and got out of there.

I'm planning on going up next weekend (July 29-30) and exploring the hills and camping up North outside Deming off Hwy 542 if anyone else is interested in joining.

I've got an idea of a few places to check out and 1 hilltop I want to try to find but I've never been out there so I can't say for sure what we will find. The girlfriend's brother lives up in Deming and he's told me that there are not a lot of gated roads up that way so hopefully there will at least be plenty of logging and FS roads to get lost on.

I figure head up early Saturday, drive around and explore, maybe do a little plinking at one of the pits up there and find a good spot to camp out for the night. And then we will probably just stop in Deming to visit with Ashley's brother before we head back South. There's also a good spot right on the edge of town that it looks like you can drive down and play around by the river.

Let me know if you are interested and maybe we can figure something out.
